Delighted to announce my new role as Assistant Ecology Officer for @RushmoorCouncil - I started this week, and am so looking forward to starting working on some exciting projects π
Chuffed to find a Scarce Prominent on my front door tonight in Headley Down - haven't even had the trap out this year yet! Maybe it is a sign ππ

Heading down to the coast later today, the mountains have been phenomenal! Although a tad disappointed on the raptor front, traveled 500km these last few days and nothing! I feel like I'm going a bit crazy. Oh well that's how it goes, have still seen lovely birds π #montenegro
Montenegro trip day 1: arrived at our accommodation in Durmitor National Park, and immediately find a family of Red-backed Shrike in the garden, the male was posing beautifully π
@danwatsonbirder @PortlandBirdObs Skiving?! What skiving? Here for training π€£...
But yes, super cool! Could never have predicted this when I got here last night!! π
A rather rubbish photo, and to many not quite as exciting as the Moltoni's this morning, but I'm alway still very happy to get good views of a Hobby π. This one flew over the obs at about 13:40.
