Sexist and sexualized attacks against women in politics have no place in Ghana’s democracy. Women should be challenged on their ideas, leadership, and policies not subjected to misogyny, humiliation, or gender-based abuse.

GenCED calls for respectful political discourse and the effective implementation of the Affirmative Action (Gender Equality) Act, 2024 to ensure safe and inclusive participation for all women in public life.

On June 4th 2026, GenCED convened a Town Hall Engagement on *The Monetization of Politics in Ghana and Its Effects on Women and Youth's Political Participation.*
The discussion highlighted how the rising cost of politics continues to create barriers for women and young people seeking political leadership and meaningful participation in governance.
