@antoniosarosi Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I think Rust is one of the best languages syntactically. Type parameters can get wild, but that's the price you pay for such a robust type system. But I can understand the elegance of other languages and why people like them over Rust.
This just tells me you've never seriously used all three. The performance difference in small file operations (like installing dependencies) is night and day. Ext4 leaves NTFS and APFS in the dust. AI models are trained on bash and *nix CLI tools. Windows RAM usage is atrocious. There are objectively better and worse operating systems.
It doesn't have a memory. It has everything in its training data and your chat message, that's it. It wakes up thinking it's the same date every turn, reads your message and whatever the harness added into context, responds and then terminates with nothing committed back to its weights
@edzart It's a tool. Why would I pay $.15 a message to tell it "Great job, I believe in you"? Why is money being spent to anthropromorphize a code slot-machine?
Anthropic is so worthless man.
If I can't tell a model 'fuck you' (a normal thing to say when the $200/m thing refuses a low-risk task) then we are not even remotely fucking close to AGI.
"wait but the model has feewings and does better if you say 'I believe in you'!" -- I'm talking to a fucking computer. You are pond scum.
@TheRealHavoc_0G@ReissadStudio It would make infantry largely irrelevant and lose the game's focus. There would be no point in putting this much detail into the reloads, if you never shoot your weapon and keep eating it to incoming arty and drones.
@DaveShapi Because Sci-Fi became less Gene Roddenberry and more Marry Shelley. The genre turned from optimism about technology improving life to the fear of technology destroying life. Almost all major sci-fi is dystopian now.
@Taniyatweets_ A Sr. Engineer with Claude. I'm so happy that I can now just point the Clanker at all the Cloudwatch logs and get back an incident report in a minute. I hated sifting through logs.
@xPraveen07 If you have to ship a mobile app, you don't have much choice. You're locked into XCode. Other than that, every decent dev I know uses Linux, either in WSL or Dev Containers
@GloriousEggroll Don't let the haters get you down. Focus on the positive, you can do exactly what you want, in a fraction of the time. The outcome is the reward. You don't need the internet's permission to be happy.
