I just wrote another article for my paid subscribers... It was another short one (I swear its not intentional I just write until it looks done)
But I wanted to share the major point from the article here.
In Proverbs 1:7 in the LXX there is a line that teaches something that is not otherwise clearly said elsewhere.
"And piety towards God is the beginning of perception"
This explains so much of the world around us today. how many people are there who have lost all touch with reality?
Well if perception has its origin in piety towards God is it any wonder that such is the case?
Mormon is the only thing I can call them without lying... and even that is questionable since that acknowledges the possibility a man named mormon existed in anything other than the pipe dream of a charlatan.
@therealstandage@LutheranAnswers work: an act of man.
Gods work: an act of God
the reason that faith is not a work is because God is the one who give it to us.
@therealstandage@LutheranAnswers you act as though baptism is something men do. as opposed to it being from God. Gods work does not require our consent to function.
Job is an amazing book of the Bible, but it requires understanding, because I have seen people quote Job’s friends as if they were speaking wisdom when the whole point is that they weren’t.
Job is a masterclass in how NOT to comfort someone who is grieving.
@biblecia ... you assume its disciple then baptize when it could equally be read (and likely should be read) as disciple: baptize and teach.
baptism being the first act of discipleship.
