@SchrockNat79945@LutheranAnswers And yet if it’s still one baptism, why not give infants the forgiveness of their sins after birth and raise them to fear God and follow Him
@SchrockNat79945@LutheranAnswers And when the household was baptized, did they just skip over the children? Because it seems self evident that if the head of the house believed, and then the gospel was proclaimed to his house and they were baptized, are we not to do the same?
@SchrockNat79945@LutheranAnswers And acting as if *you* doing something is not a work but calling infant baptism “a water ritual” well how else are we supposed to baptize? We are told to use water, not that the water saves but God’s word with the water, saying otherwise is being obtuse or falling into unbelief
@SchrockNat79945@LutheranAnswers You keep speaking of Baptism as a “water ritual” and implying that anyone is saying you must do it SO God loves you, for God so loved us He gave us His Son. Baptism is not a work of man (as having to say the right words is) it is a work of God and His promise to us
@SchrockNat79945@LutheranAnswers When do you believe enough for a believers baptism? I am genuinely curious, is it when you kinda feel like you believe in God? Do you baptize yourself again 3 weeks later when you believe a lot harder?
@SchrockNat79945@LutheranAnswers “but Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.”” Matt 19:14 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. John 3:5
@SchrockNat79945@LutheranAnswers Or do we baptize our children into Christ Jesus, for forgiveness of their sins and raise them in the faith, “Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says “Jesus is accursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except in the Holy Spirit”
@SchrockNat79945@LutheranAnswers Yes I know you said more but if you are denying the supernatural powers and affect of God Almighty, maker of the Heavens and the Earth then you are in unbelief
@SchrockNat79945@LutheranAnswers So is our belief just of words on a page? Does God not have power and does not promise us that He does Great and Miraculous things? To say I rely on superstition as if that is in contradiction to scripture, are you even a believer in God?
@EdTheAdm@LutheranAnswers child turns into an adult they can fall into sin and reject their baptism and the spiritual gifts it has given them, there is one baptism that saves you and forgives your sin, and if the sinful adult returns to Christ still has their baptism to look back to knowing they are saved
@EdTheAdm@LutheranAnswers I want to say thank you for actually having a good and rational take other than “nuh uh” but I would say by God’s Word and Promise baptism does save and forgives sin, not as a work of man but the work of God as a means of Grace that gives faith and drowns the old Adam, and as a-
@SchrockNat79945@LutheranAnswers It’s not a script nor do I care your tradition, I am speaking truth, the Bible never says it’s an adult appeal, but it does actually speak of baptism as a “magical safety net” God’s promise in the sacrament truly saves those who are baptized, but regeneration can be lost
