@MarcLobliner Because, as a society, we have decided that letting children and the elderly starve is "bad. " Especially if you are living in a place that makes enough food to feed most of the world.
I am SUPER hesitant to even launch this- so many folks are in way worse condition than me, but I've had quite a few people privately ask me to set something up. I'm not going to end up under a bridge if it doesnt pan out, but if you *wanted* to help, I'll not turn you down.
@imPenny2x If the almighty wanted us to have virtually unlimited clean power, then he damn well would have hung a massive thermonuclear reactor in the sky! :)
Hey @Enterprise just a tip- *dont confirm reservations that you can't fulfill*, and this goes doubly so for FREAKING AIRPORT RENTALS. Nothing like arriving at the counter to get your reserved car and being essentially told "yeah, well sucks to be you!"
@SirBylHolte Literally none of that has to do with D.Ed. States determine curriculum and resources. D.Ed only requires states report perfomance, and how much they spend per student. Oh, and that they provide education for the handicapped and others that would be easier to leave out.
@Junkmail_84@PeterSchiff@RepThomasMassie That's how the system works in the US now (pin and card). And if you go to certain areas, you'll get approached by someone who offers to buy your shopping (with benefits), if you pay them half the value in cash. Or they find a shady clerk/manager.
@RepThomasMassie Should a CHILD who has poor parents never know how Soda tastes? Should they never get a birthday cake? They didn't ask to be poor. If you wish to restrict the food choices of people on benefits, then supply the food you feel is appropriate. (But no one likes those optics.)
@Playteaux1 Because it is a service, and one that is required to serve everyone equally- USPS can't tell the folks in Alaska that they will be shutting down all the offices, and only doing deliveries 2x/a week. They can't charge folks in NYC less than those in Iowa. Other pkg companies can.
@iam_smx Judges aren't supposed to kowtow to "the will of the people." They are supposed to ensure the law is obeyed as written/intended. Following the will of the people would have prevented school integration, Interacial marriage, etc.
@DOGE How many of those licenses are old "lifetime" licenses that are for software (or software versions) that are no longer used. Hell, my household has licenses for more operating systems than we have people, but that's only because we don't run windows 95 anymore!
@JDVance How can we trust Russia to honor any treaty they sign?
They signed the Budapest Memorandum (look it up- Ukraine gave up its nukes, Russia promised no invasions.) Then they ignored that promise. Twice.
@bljacka@wkessler12 "Well you wouldn't have had that heart attack if you hadn't married a younger spouse. "CLAIM DENIED. "Well, childbirth stresses multiple systems, so sorry, we are reducing your coverage. But congrats on baby #2 !"
@elonmusk Why not just *print the voter rolls with pictures*. And if you don't have a picture, its the 21st century, we can take one. Fill out this form, finger prints in the box, provisional ballot. Wait, you suddenly don't want to vote? Hmmm why so worried about fingerprints?
