It's difficult to put into words how I, and indeed everyone who came across or worked with Craig, will feel on hearing such devastating news.
He was without hesitation one of the most wonderfully talented, emotionally understanding, calm, balanced and outrageously funny people I've had the privilege of calling my friend. Safe journey to the next destination my wonderful friend. You are loved and admired by us all, and every time we think of you, a smile, smirk, chuckle or memorable occasion will come to us. We truly are the lucky ones for having known Shakey.
An inspirational figure in our history.
Craig was instrumental in our rise from League 1 to Premier League champions, before taking charge as Manager and leading us into the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Rest in peace, Shakey.
✍ Five West Midlands Conservative MPs have joined me in sending a letter to the Chancellor and Education Secretary urging them to scrap their plans to impose VAT on independent school fees.
This ill-conceived policy will drive down education quality across the board.
Gareth Southgate (appointed 2016) is the last remnant of Theresa May era of Britain; a quietly patriotic, basically decent person, but completely inadequate to the moment at hand and not up to the job, still backed only by the sort of people who listen to The Rest is Politics.
Common sense has finally prevailed. This was the wrong scheme in the wrong place. And it has been from day one. Why did it take Labour so long to listen to the concerns of local people?
2 people going to the Food Bank, who are they voting for?
Conservatives, "They have helped us more than anybody."
"I'd be so gutted if Rishi Sunak lost"

A more politically saleable, though more expensive, policy would be to offer young people lower tuition fees or help with getting on the housing ladder for a year's national service (broadly defined - military, Teach First etc) before the age of 25. Voluntary not compulsory 1/3
We may have disagreed on Brexit, but @michaelgove has been an outstanding Secretary of State. He deserves to be remembered in particular for his work with @NickGibbUK at Education which, building on the Blair/Adonis reforms, transformed the life chances of so many children
Michael Gove @michaelgove was the greatest Education Secretary we have ever had and ever will have.
Did he make mistakes?
Sure.
Haven’t we all?
Did I agree with him on everything?
No.
But I will be forever grateful for so much - his courage, his vision, his determination.
Our schools are so much better off thanks to the personal and professional sacrifices he made, fighting for what was right, popular or not, always valuing children and their futures above all else.
Thank you Michael Gove for your service.
I missed you when you stepped down as Ed Sec. and I will miss you now and always. ❤️
I finished uni a week ago. All I wanted to do this summer was drink M&S cocktails in fields before embarking on 50 years of soul destroying work with little disposable income, followed by an overdue and likely impoverished retirement.
Now even that has seemingly been taken away.
