@mmsfeir Thank you for one of the most interesting classes I have ever took 🥺 I genuinely genuinely enjoyed all of the discussions related to #DH and #gender and I believe that this course has broadened my perspectives and how I perceive the world. #ENGL256BF21
@mmsfeir I wish we had more time, or even a part 2 of #ENGL256BF21 so that we could dive deeper into merging new technologies with humanities practices. I really believe that blockchain could provide a remarkable added value. #DH
Blockchain tech offers a way for untrusted parties to reach a consensus on a common digital history (of ownership). This is important because digital assets & transactions can easily be faked/duplicated. Blockchain tech solves this problem without using a trusted intermediary.
@Tamara_256B I always try to refer to this method. But do you want me to blow your mind? Try this rule in Arabic! It does not apply because even the plural is gendered!!! I think we need to revamp the language to meet our modern needs #ENGL256BF21
Just presented about #DataandVisualization with @BassamLeia and @JadSlim15! This presentation really revealed a lot of gender-biases,debates and trends within the field. One thing that’s true is that there’s an active effort to avoid gender-biases in data collection #ENGL256BF21
Amazing presentation on Data Visualization today!! @Dana256B made me think of one very important thing: we shouldn’t “distant read” distantly, but rather rely on machine learning and technology in a more active way. #ENGL256BF21#DH#Gender
Currently attending a virtual workshop about #Gender in both English and Arabic #Language. There is so many things we have to think about and reconsider regarding using the plural, gender neutral pronouns, and common words. How can we leverage #DH tools to help solve this issue?
