@theliverdoc Patient confidentiality is a joke in India. The original post should be deleted immediately even if done in good faith.
And what's with the unnecessary antibiotics and polypharmacy🤯
Hours wasted for what EMR could generate automatically.
Some who call themselves nationalists are extremely jealous of Indians doing well in Dubai. The envy is very evident from the tweets since yesterday.
Missile attacks can happen any time any where. No air defence system can completely prevent it. Have visited Dubai in the past. Would visit in future too. An isolated incident don't define everyday life of a country or city.
If you want, qualify yourself for working in say a Dubai or Singapore. Nationalism should not be used to camouflage envy.
During these uncertain times, a gentle reminder to every expat in the UAE 🇦🇪
Please make a Will.
Without a will or Wassiyah, your savings/investments, properties, and even your children's custody might not go to who you intend.
The largest randomized trial of medical A.I.
—Over 100,000 women in Sweden
—radiologist + AI vs 2 radiologists, in follow-up
—AI added led to 29% more cancer detected, 44% reduced workload, and
—Less cancer dx in subsequent 2 years, and, when found, less aggressive

@theliverdoc I would say the lack of communication. Modern medicine practitioners are often too busy and focus on 'what’s required', leaving little time to address patients’ fears, questions, and assumptions. Meanwhile, quacks and ghee-loving weekend nutritionists have mastered communication.
I think at this point, if you don’t have any physical limitations it literally doesn’t make any sense to not engage in strength training
You don’t have to like it — you just do it because you should
Bone density, benefits for your nervous system, for your brain, for your mood, heart health — the list is endless and at this point if you’re not doing it in some capacity you’re leaving good good quality years on the table
You brush your teeth not because you like doing it, but because you know you should
Lifting weights is now in that territory of something that you probably have to do in order to live and age well
Who should get their retina assessed?
On this #WorldRetinaDay, here are key groups who should undergo a retinal check:
1. All diabetics
2. Anyone whose HbA1c was >7 at any point in life
3. All hypertensives
4. Anyone experiencing transient vision loss
5. Anyone with sudden vision loss not improving (emergency)
6. Individuals with night vision problems
7. Those with a family history of night blindness (should be checked once)
8. Elderly above 65 years, especially with central vision or reading difficulties
9. Anyone with difficulty in central vision
10. Anyone with difficulty in their peripheral field of vision
11. Moderate to high myopes
12. Individuals with a history of stroke, heart attack, or angioplasty
13. Premature infants – retina assessment between 20–30 days after birth
14. Anyone with a sudden onset of multiple floaters, flashes of light, or photopsias
15. Individuals who take longer to adapt to darkness (e.g., on entering a theatre compared to peers)
16. Anyone with a family history of retinal detachment
👉 If you or your loved ones fall into any of these categories, a retina check is strongly recommended.
Timely detection can prevent irreversible vision loss.

Someone said that you can literally quote this tweet with anything and get viral.
I agree
Rheumatologist here
Dear #medtwiitter it’s about time we start prescribing strength training as a must to all patients seeking health care in any form
This will improve patient outcomes in all domains and remains an ignored but extremely vital domain to prevent morbidity and mortality in complicated patients.
@theliverdoc I have seen many good cases where chatgpt has diagnosed/treated something rare that doctors might have missed.
Cough with internal bleeding due to BP meds is NOT one of them.
Smoking causes blindness
"But I know someone who smokes and has fine vision at 90..."
Yes, because you don't live in a hospital and you don't see hundreds coming in with damaged retinas due to smoking.
'Macular degeneration' is one of the leading causes of blindness in the world, and the numbers have gone up like bitcoin in the last decade.
-Smokers are 2-4 times more likely to get this problem
-Vision loss starts much earlier (in their 50s) than in non-smokers
-They develop the more severe form of the disease (called 'Wet AMD')
If you love your eyes, ditch smoking.
