Chronik and I traded today together which we have not been doing as much as he truly is a part time trader with a job. Short staff forced him to work more.
If you're unaware of Chronik, he has been a coaching student of mine for nearly 2 years come February.
He's not paid me a dime either. The intentions was established long ago, I want to start a legit prop firm. Not funding, like the shit you guys are use to. I think prop firm is an absolute misuse of what those companies are.
In my opinion... Okay. For me - Proprietary firms are having access to things you don't have access to as a retail trader. Coaching, accountability, tech, and all sorts of other support.
This is too expensive for one person to pay for as a service in order to survive a multi-year learning curve which also happens in tier 1 props. In those environments you can have a trader still take a year or two - to actually get consistent.
I don't offer coaching, and really never wanted to. The incentive is not worth it.
However we split 50/50 when he finally makes profits. Seems steep, but I take a fuck load of up front risk. I've sunk a tremendous amount of time into him.
He's stuck out this long, I know he will keep riding it out. Some people just dip. So this model is horribly flawed unless you luck out on the student, and obviously there's a shit load of trust on payments. Which as we know trading is full of scumbags.
Sometimes you just take a leap of faith.
No one wrote a handbook on how to get traders to turn the corner, and when other traders brag about their students being consistent - while I've seen indirect success through my teachings (very little by the way) - I'm sure it happens. But I also find that coaching is fucking hard.
I don't have accountability for myself. When we trade together and I fall of the rails, Chronik doesn't call me out. He's sucked into the session as well which becomes a trance like state, and it's hard to snap out of it.
I had initially made tremendous progress with him as he kept one account alive for over 6 months. I mean he flounder fucked in it. But it stayed alive.
We've had issues where he's been so tilted I tell him he's done but he keeps going and has blown accounts like this.
So that's my summary as lots of new subs may not know who this is.
I want to know what it really takes to get someone profitable and maintain it.
We as a collective in trading have virtually no documentations or running history on this. Maybe success stories and shit. But we lack the actual nuances of the journey. This is my attempt to shed some light on it.
If we can see him turn the corner, then we have real live understanding of what it took.
I also believe I can hypnotize someone into success.
I've been certified in it for some time - which anyone can literally do and a certificate aint shit - but I've practiced it a lot on myself and him.
This has been the best thing that produces real change and results.
This is why I'll always argue psychology is as important as edge development and must be done together from the start.
Actively working on his psychological triggers every session fucking works.
This prop thing is why we built https://t.co/VNVPpVyeYM by the way.
I need to see where he does well and where he suffers.
There's always stuff you are in control of 100% like taking trades in the best locations, and other emotional triggers.
While markets are random. You can boost your probabilities of success by working real hard on the things you're in control of and making sure your performance is near perfect every session. This alone DOES reflect in the PNL!
Chronik made a big fuck up on blowing an account and when he does, he's not aloud to do one for several months. Only sim.
We are gearing up for his next account. Which Ill document. I have in the past and it's here on X.
But this next round is us literally going in more prepared after getting fucked up. Haters can hate. But the information through this is of value even if we get fucked up again.
Now I had made the mistake of learning vibe coding over the year and spent too much time building shit and lost focus on myself and Chronik in the psych department, as well as review work. Which this complacency caught up.
I wasn't being a coach as much as some guy he traded the session with.
I needed to devlop more will power to pull out of problematic trading as well as systems to monitor him. Often when he starts trading like shit he doesn't tell me and I have no fucking idea.
There's a prop dash for https://t.co/VNVPpVyeYM that's not released. It was a dead project and never completed. I see his trades come in live and he tags his psych state.
Currently he streams his PNL live. So I monitor that. Trying to juggle him and myself at the same time.... Its.... Its not fucking easy.
My will power to do the right shit comes from administering my own hypnosis sessions.
You don't just muster discipline mid session.
It's all done before or after. I have to rewire my neurons through this process to make it a habit. Which is the point of hypnosis in general. We rewire his SPECIFIC PSYCH triggers.
I can assure you that there's unlimited ways to trade, and there's unlimited potential specific psych triggers.
Being tilted is a broad statement much like the PNLs I added below of Chronik and my session.
This means nothing to you until I explain what happened.
Yesterday I did a fuck load of drills. I had been suffering of execution errors for months and months and months which I have an X post on somewhere explaining this.
I have been focusing on breath work hypnosis. There's different psych tools I employ. This one is the fastest.
I look at all trades that I feel have poor execution in a recorded session on drills and even live. I look at these specific trades and run through this breath work process until the triggering emotion is gone, and I'm content with the price action and feel a sense of calm.
Looking at the recording and screen of my trade. I'll pause it. And go through the breathing then visualize in pure focus the ideal thing I should of done in this part of the price action, It could be waiting longer and taking nothing here, or just executing a few tick further out. I make sure I see myself doing the right thing while at the same time focusing on ideal emotions.
-Calmness
-Contentment
-Patience
Today I came in more aware of this long review process. Looked at the higher time frame because I seem to forget often.
We literally check listed everything we look at. Because sometimes we forget to look at things we normally look at, and build out deeper context covering EVERYTHING in our systems.
I ended up fading solid fucking areas. Didn't know we could be a trend day. But I played my areas the way I should and took the losses, as they should.
I didn't over fight.
1-2 tries on one area and I'm done!
Wait for truly another setup, because I can get churned out hard and fast in the same area. One little area can farm out so much PNL. This is my biggest weakness right now.
The issue is the complacency on working on psych.
IT NEVER ENDS!
Now MOST traders don't do shit for it...
Imagine a video game character with a skill trees or skill stats.
-Edge is one.
-Psych is another.
I can't imagine what the difference can be in myself and Chronik if we put in just as much time here as trading? But I KNOW it will make a difference because we have actual recorded results and stats around this shit.
There were 2 areas that were fade worthy on the higher time frame. I took them.
I took the trades off well for the volatility.
But I also recognized the trend could continue if these were blown out.
Sometimes intra-day trends are just up legs on a higher time frame range.
We both did well for fading a trend day, but by not pressing and forcing an opinion on it, and flowing well with the information at hand.
Getting married to ANY BIAS! Is an absolute death blow!
Staying as fluid as possible, but not being overly fluid - just riding that balance point - really paid off.
In reality you should not take more than 2 losses in a row. At least for us.
We stop the trading session, and review those losses NOW!
Do the psych work NOW!!!
That way we can pick back up from a fresh place mid session and truly salvage the mother fucker.
Mid session psych work - fucking works!!!
It saves sessions.
We attempt to use a faster process for it. Not the longer 10-15 minute hypnosis sessions.
I use to use a lot of loop timers to do mid session psych work. That shit also works which is why it's built into https://t.co/VNVPpVyeYM - now we plan on making a better version of it.
We want statistics on how much time are we actually using on psych work. Not doing the breathing part. But the deeper states where the real change occurs.
Does more hours make a difference!?
Will I guess we will find out....
---
Let's move back into the session. But first. We can see below how my equity curve with the purple line - Shows this recovery from the massive draw down I took on September 30 2026 in one session. I talked about it here: https://t.co/QUgC39E1ur - roughly 10 trading sessions. Was out on vacation last week.
I'm basically there.
We also had a little drop that seemed to knock out a ton of work.
Most of everything, is psychological here. I know what to do and how to trade well. No matter what I look at or deal with as far as how charts are displayed - management and being particular about entries and setups will never change and is universal.
Tooling is simply there to boost clarity, fit with your theory on how markets work, and help you triangulate setups.
But management and proper psych are key. Every tooling, or indicator has some failure at some point, even if the setup is A+
A+ setups never mean 100% win rates. To me A+ in the most clarity you have to get the best setup possible and it works almost as you predicted. You're not caught off guard too much by the noise. Once noise enters your head, you lose clarity and the A+ signal fades.
All setups have clarity boosts assuming they're good setups for you. However the moment clarity fades it's not A+
A+ setups become more A+ the more time you have with them and the more nuances you've seen.
My A+ hits, if I gave to you will not be A+ for you.
You lack the experience and knowing of the granulars.
Plus context building supports the setups. The entire read on the entire session must be understood to contribute to a setup from being shit to A+
In my opinion, setups should not be stand alone. Narrative and context is key. Multiple factors of support is key!
Today was odd. It's one of those days where the volume did not feel like it mattered in ES and it's full arbitrage. Which ES does arbitrage the actual SPX - Not to be confused with options. - SPX is the official ticker for SP500
I say this all the time. Pull up charts on SPX ES MES VOO IVV SPY
All the same price action. Different order books and volume.
I've experimented with combing multiple products, stocks, and options to pinpoint the order flow. Where the real movement takes place.
SPX doesn't move on order flow as it's a math formula on stocks and their weights.
So all listed symbols I mentioned arb the SPX price.
The way I see it so far, is the volume seems to rotate in and out of each symbol.
Stock cumulative delta for example - does not at all ever match ES price movement. Where as there are days ES delta is really in sync with ES price movement, despite the occasional divergences.
Delta simply shows the difference between buy and sell orders. So offset. This offset typically wants to rebalance.
Now today - the price seemed to pull the delta. The delta had this very odd lack of response to actual response but lagged at times with price. Price was dragging the delta at times, and moving with no delta response. Now this could mean volume was truly matched and in control.
But...
I think some other symbol had a ton of weight on the volume contribution to today's movement.
This is actually how Vest exchange runs their book. They arb with say NQ which is arbing NDX which is moved on stocks.
Vest can fuck their trader - which if you read their fine print they mention how they will take the other side of the trade and not guarantee liquidity. However for the most part their algo will arb NQ price while sometimes their price chart has an odd spike not on NQ where they fucked their customers on a stop.
I digress.
ES is basically like Vest but regulated. Vest will have to pull orders even though there is no order flow in order to stay with NQ. But unlike NQ and ES. Market makers are obligated to leave a minimum amount of liquidity.
Even though it can virtually nothing....
So the algos pulling liquidity to keep the price lock in step and prevent the market makers from having stale quotes, means there's another volume event moving the shit in another order book.
Which one exactly? I don't know yet. I'm still running science projects. Which all this conspiracy theory is shared in my course modules in detail here at: https://t.co/9d6VzTK1Cg
Stocks however had by far the most interesting results. Options as well, but more so in the form of just seeing massive orders hit you wont see in futures.
Stocks need to be viewed in volume leg form, which Ill be working on in the near future. Right now volume legs by default should split on candles. If on a high time frame - a range has like 2 candles. One of those massive candles will be putting all of it's volume into either an up or down leg. The volume on that candle should be split from the up leg, to the moment it tests high and roll back over where it should be split to the short leg. This alone is causing accuracy issues with standard zig zag shit.
Easier said then done. I basically have a white board where I hand draw a DOM and order flow events one order at a time and train the AI on as many scenarios as I can think of. Like what happens if the limits widen their spread?
Anyways. Today felt like it was being driven on volume elsewhere. I can't explain it. But watching enough sessions with a DOM and cumulative delta, you can fucking tell.
I can at least.
This means volume legs and delta lose the ability to lean into them harder. The typical shit or signals of leaning into heavier volume fail more.
It was like this yesterday as well.
One day the signals work in specific ways then the next, they're unreliable as fuck.
This is why you need a bag of tricks.
Simple price action and ranges give me enough information that with decent fucking management I can lean on them, because after all - The official SPX has those same ranges.
Really making sure we know higher time frame structure here which was the 15m chart as there seemed to be this 2 day range looking thing going on. All those major major pivots as well are key. We pivoted majorly in random spots for a reason.
Supply flooded in on high sides.
Remember supply and demand still matter and are the core pillar to why we rotated where we did.
I've talked about this before and this really will be another set of modules on https://t.co/9d6VzTK1Cg - Basically ranges are expanded out spreads. If you don't know the basics of how limit orders are the better price on the spread then market orders... Fuck man. I got youtube videos. Go watch.
HFTs and market makers play these. They're too difficult for us. We need queue advantage, and full automation, as well as latency edge.
Smaller ranges or micro ranges are the next step up on the spread. Still too fast for us. But slow enough for some algos, they don't need to compete for spreads.
As you go up in range sizes, bigger or slower participants start to have more ability to compete.
Volume legs, are like the market orders hitting on the spread. We get an idea of where more pressure exists, or more supply and demand.
The middle of ranges are like markets with wider spreads with no limit orders. Like penny stocks. So the edges are always important.
Ranges are structure. Anything else is slop. Sometimes trend days are legs of a monthly range.
Now on more volatile days. You need more fucking risk. You can't fucking react. The problem is when all this back and forth chop is too fucking fast for you to react and click. Some form of hybrid assist is needed to deal with that. But building that alone can have so many fucking issues, and is a real fucking project.
So we need to expand our risk. This means we need bigger reward to offset stops.
This means, leaning into the wider ranges.
At some point I CAN'T COMPETE on smaller ranges, that I could compete on - if volatility was lower.
This was key for today.
Lean into the best of the best. NO MORE THAN 2 TRIES!
The $50 loss on trade 1 and $25 loss trade 3 were both fat finger mistakes. Not actual attempts.
So out of the 4 non-mistake losses, I tried specific setups on 2 of them once!
This shit should usually work out well and right away. You shouldn't need to keep fucking fighting as this means whatever you're doing is not working and something is changing in the market.
It's like chopping at a golf ball in a sand trap - but you're hitting nothing but sand.
The delta had initially diverged as if sellers were reloading then ran a rebalance. This is a sign of fuckery on the delta. Basically and early sign of potential unreliability for reloads.
However it was making massive reclaims that would rebalance and they were doing it near the highs before we leg up. So fading a highly offset delta is always a dangerous game.
Delta rebalances and reloads are just 2 different techniques or reads, on one indicator.
--
Now we had volume pump on the histogram. Which I had fucked with to get better reads from. The way it's setup now, I can see pumps on just the left or right side of V-Flushes.
This can tip off the direction.
We certainly were getting directional tip offs. But also pockets of slop where it seemed some of the "hot pumps" on the volume where the same traders stopping. They happened in the same rough locations and were the same rough sizes.
Volume however can tip off direction when you get a lot of same direction hot pumping. Basically above average sustained volume.
Looking for the biggest pockets of hot pumping or throttle pumping, can tip off points of no return. I say that loose as fuck though. Sometimes it holds and we blow back through those before not returning.
Today, it just pumped hard and never returned in a lot of spots.
Now for me I was fading major fucking legs with major volume. The second leg where I took the last 2 losses had 54 and 57 as massive volume legs. Surely a place to slow the price, and it did. If you look at a small enough time frame like a 30s you can see that area stumbled the most on the pure up trend.
The RR on it was so fucking huge I was willing to risk there. After all we are still in a HTF range, and I had no read of pure up trend.
Now what I know is when my ranges get knocked. Or smaller ranges - this is a sign of a higher time frame play.
We had so much one way throttle pump that when my two major short areas failed, it was worth the flip.
ESPECIALLY MY LAST 2 LONGS!
The volume histogram was building high fucking massive lumps of pressure near new highs on the session. This is a sign of continuation. This is that old school shit where guys use to tell you volume increasing on edges, is a sign of a break!
Histogram is the best method to visualize it.
For me......
I don't like just hitting out edges on highs. It's such a dangerous game.
However I told Chronik, this might be one of those trends that has no pullbacks you wait forever for, and by the time it happens it's over.
Those types of trends are a mother fucker to fully be sure of and require you to just sort of jump in.
Also these types of moves are not the normal. So most of the time tactical fades are working.
Now I left a lot on the table on some of the legs. But I also wanted to bank roll the PNL and make sure I could cover losses and then some, but never being too fucking greedy - because 99% of the time - I get fucked trying to do an extra squeeze for that next 5 points.
The session is narrated and up at https://t.co/9d6VzTK1Cg
I need to pipe in Chronik's mic, but you can hear me telling him all this shit.
I'm happy with the results for someone who was in the way of the trend, but also trading with it, but not all of it because I wasn't sure.
A lot of the time these fucking things roll in the most random spots not touching other pivots, so it's always a guessing game.
