Apart from our usual officers keeping us all safe this Christmas, a good number of our members will be forced to work ‘On Call’ throughout the Christmas Holidays. The reality is that for the vast majority of our members, Christmas is all but cancelled for us once again this year.
I was pleased to see the overt support from @FabianPicardo First Minister of Gibraltar regarding this matter @Euro_COP congratulate him on taking this position and being extremely clear so there can be no misunderstanding of his stance in this matter @RGPolice please note.
The @GibraltarPolice has criticised the position taken by the @RGPolice during the inquest into the deaths of two Spanish nationals who were killed in a fatal collision with a police vessel in Spanish waters, adding that its stance was “shameful”. https://t.co/a5dg5osvo2
Today we bid farewell to PC 160 Herbert Warwick who joined the RGP in 1991 and after serving most of his career at the Marine Section.
In 2013 PC Warwick received the Overseas Territories Medal for his distinguished service as a police officer.
We wish Herbert all the best.
Today, we have attended training days where we have explained to officers, how the Grievance Process works, and how to report
unacceptable standards of behaviour internally.
Assaults, burglaries, domestic violence, traffic matters. If the sandbags can’t stop the water flooding into our HQ we’ll add this to our job description.
In this day and age it is unacceptable to be working in such deplorable conditions.
A new HQ cannot come soon enough.
Earlier today, the GPF attended EuroCOP’s virtual Congress. We wish to congratulate Mr Callum Steele who was voted in as President and Mrs Unn Alma Skatvold who was voted in as Vice President, together with all the other candidates selected to form part of @Euro_COP ExCom.
Today we commemorate “Armistice Day” where the armistice agreement ended the First World War on Monday, November 11, 1918, at 11 a.m.—on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month.
