Today marks the 14th anniversary of the loss of my beloved brothers, whose untimely deaths continue to haunt my heart. As I remember them, I am reminded of the ongoing suffering in Balochistan, where the people endure daily violence and enforced disappearances.
Though years have passed, the situation in Balochistan has not improved. The region remains plagued by widespread human rights violations, with countless lives lost and families torn apart. The cries for justice echo in the hearts of those who have lost their loved ones, yet these voices too often fall on deaf ears.

پاکستان میں غیر بلوچ مصنفین اور محققین کی تحریروں میں بلوچوں کے حوالے سے ایک قسم کی معرفتی بالادستی (Epistemic Hegemony) نمایاں طور پر دیکھی جا سکتی ہے۔ اس کے تحت یہ خیال کیا جاتا ہے کہ بلوچ معاشرے، اس کی تاریخ اور اس کی سیاسی جدوجہد کو خود بلوچوں کی نسبت یہ بیرونی افراد زیادہ بہتر طور پر سمجھ سکتے ہیں۔ پاکستان میں—خصوصاً بلوچستان سے باہر کے علمی اور سیاسی حلقوں میں—بلوچوں کے بارے میں تشکیل دیا گیا بیانیہ نہ صرف ایک طرح کی علمی اجارہ داری کی عکاسی کرتا ہے بلکہ فکری استعمار (intellectual colonialism) کی ایک صورت بھی ہے۔
اس صورتِ حال کی ایک بنیادی وجہ یہ بھی ہے کہ ہمیں ایک کوشش نظر تو آتی ہے لیکن بلوچ دانشوروں، محققین اور اہلِ قلم نے—باوجود اس کے کہ ان میں ضروری صلاحیت اور شعور موجود ہے—اپنی اجتماعی شناخت، تاریخی تجربات اور سیاسی و سماجی حقائق کی مؤثر اجتماعی نمائندگی کا وہ کردار ادا نہیں کیا جو اس عہد کی ضرورت ہے۔ جب تک بلوچ خود اپنے فکری اور سیاسی بیانیے کی تشکیل اور اشاعت کی ذمہ داری نہیں سنبھالتے، ان کے بارے میں مسلط کردہ اور مسخ شدہ تعبیرات غالب رہیں گی۔

We strongly condemn the cowardly suicide attack in Balochistan National Party’s public gathering on the occasion of Sardar Attaullah Mengal’s death anniversary at Shahwani Stadium Quetta. The sucide attack was aimed at the President of the Balochistan National Party Sardar Akhtar Mengal and its leaderahip.

This violent act was also intended to sabotage the solidarity of all nationalists and progressive parties in Balochistan. In this cowardly attack, many of our party’s leadership and cadre are seriously injured and number of political activists lost their lives, dozens in hospitals with severe life threatening conditions. The media is completely silent on this tragic incident. All these violent acts are to silence democratic voices for justice and peace.
