I’m not even exaggerating but LeBron at 41 is a better defender than Jordan ever was. Watch Jordan full games and any unbiased mind would realize that.
Taylor Swift, who doesn't support borders, walls, guns, or billionaires, sets up a massive wall around MSG with heavily armed security for her billionaire wedding
HYPOCRISY 🚨 Taylor Swift has a net worth of $2 billion dollars.
Swift is shutting down numerous streets in New York & costing NYC tax payers over $160,000 to "protect" her wedding at Madison Square Garden.
Where are the "anti billionaire" leftists protesting her wealth? Protesting her stupid wedding? Protesting her oligarchy?
Rules for thee but not for me. If this was a Republican there would be numerous headlines, leftists "protesting" it would be called a Nazi wedding.
@derBovo The difference is that these get rescinded by the league all the time. They’re downgraded and upgraded. FIFA claims they can’t intervene in the biggest match of the year.
In general, in all American sports, we value: grit and toughness, clear and fair rules, and good sportsmanship.
The flopping and embellishing part of soccer goes against all 3 of those. The draconian nature of red cards, and the arbitrary nature of officiating, contradicts #2.
The player from Bosnia didn’t get a red card for this and it was far more reckless and dangerous than what Balogun did.
He didn’t even get a yellow card.
He didn’t even get called for a foul at all.
Cristiano Ronaldo got a 3 game red card suspension and FIFA just up and decided he was simply too big of a superstar to serve it
So forgive me if I'm not really interested in what "mechanisms" FIFA says are or aren't at our disposal here as it's just Calvinball all the way down
what I’ve learned so far watching the World Cup
1- 95% of goals are called off due to offside bcuz a players toe is just ahead of a defender. Thanks VAR
2- FIFA can hand out red cards whenever they want. Accidentally step on a players foot? Sorry bud, red card!
This angle on the first half Balogun play is crazy. Balogun completely grabbed on an obvious goal scoring opportunity. No foul, no penalty kick, no red card, no yellow card, no VAR review.
Make it make sense.
I'm all for supporting U.S. teams in international competition.
But man soccer is such an awful sport.
#4 here, ostensibly a grown man, is writhing around on the ground in apparent agony, only to get up and finish the game running on that ankle. This is the norm, not the exception in this sport.
This stuff makes it unbearable. Don't think I'll ever be able to get on board with a sport where it's commonplace for a grown man to act like a pussy.
Soccer is for girls and Europeans.
MJ:
1. Retired to avoid public suspension for gambling
2. Retired because he refused to play without Phil Jackson and Scottie Pippen
3. Retired after losing too much and then got fired from his front office position for the same reason
