When @zoo_bear was arrested by Delhi Police in 2022 based on a manufactured complaint, court had ordered 4 days of remand and he was kept in IFSO office in Sector 16 in Dwarka during the remand period. I would go see him from a distance everyday because he was allowed to meet the lawyer everyday, and I would go along, but i wasn't allowed to speak with him. Once he was going to be taken for a health checkup (as part of regular procedure), which would mean he would have to be put into a police van and taken to the hospital. I was present there at that point in time and saw a lone camera person standing outside the gate. I was intrigued as to how does this media person know that Zubair's going to be taken for a checkup. I asked him which media organisation he's from, and it of course turned out to be ANI. Essentially Delhi Police had informed ANI that the camera person should be there so that the images can be shown widely on social media. Thankfully, that case didn't go the Umar Khalid way and he eventually got bail in 23 days. In those days, he was shuttled between different towns of UP and Delhi and the ANI camera followed him everywhere. Today, Swatantra Bhardwaj has been sent to police remand for an actual crime, but ANI has no photos to show.

सहारनपुर कलेक्ट्रेट में स्थित प्राचीन मस्जिद का ध्वस्तीकरण अत्यंत अफसोसजनक है। इस कार्रवाई ने एक बार फिर यह बुनियादी सवाल खड़ा कर दिया है कि अगर संविधान और कानून सभी के लिए समान हैं तो उनके लागू करने में दोहरा मापदंड क्यों दिखाई देता है? आज बुलडोजर न्याय की निशानी कम और बदले, भेदभाव और नफरत की राजनीति का हथियार बनता जा रहा है।

यह मामला केवल एक मस्जिद का नहीं, बल्कि संविधान की सर्वोच्चता, कानून के शासन, धार्मिक स्वतंत्रता, नागरिक समानता और राज्य की निष्पक्ष भूमिका का सवाल है।

1991 का Places of Worship Act आज भी मौजूद है। इसी तरह नए वक्फ कानून में भी “वक्फ बाई यूजर” की धारा मौजूद है। यह मस्जिद वक्फ बोर्ड में दर्ज है जिसका नंबर 451 है। जबकि जमीन के पुराने रिकॉर्ड में याकूब खान और वहीद खान के से जमीन दर्ज हैं। मस्जिद कमेटी ने अदालत में 1911 से संबंधित दस्तावेज, नगरपालिका रिकॉर्ड और पुराने राजस्व अभिलेख प्रस्तुत करके यह पक्ष रखा था। ऐसे ऐतिहासिक और कानूनी साक्ष्यों को नजरअंदाज करके ध्वस्तीकरण की कार्रवाई न्याय की उसूलों पर गंभीर सवाल खड़े करती है।

अगर अवैध कब्जा या अतिक्रमण ही कार्रवाई का मापदंड है तो यही मापदंड हर धर्म और हर वर्ग के लिए समान होना चाहिए। देश के विभिन्न हिस्सों में सरकारी जमीनों, सड़कों और सार्वजनिक स्थानों पर दशकों से मौजूद दूसरी धार्मिक निर्माणों के खिलाफ भी क्या प्रशासन इसी जल्दबाजी, सख्ती और मापदंड से कार्रवाई करता है? अगर नहीं, तो किसी एक धार्मिक स्थल के खिलाफ असाधारण सख्ती समान न्याय के सिद्धांत के विपरीत महसूस होती है।

भारत किसी एक धर्म या वर्ग का नहीं, हिंदू, मुस्लिम, सिख, ईसाई और सभी धर्मों को मानने वालों का साझा वतन है। संविधान ने किसी को पहले और किसी को दूसरे दर्जे का नागरिक नहीं बनाया है।

हम किसी विशेष रियायत के इच्छुक नहीं हैं, केवल समान न्याय चाहते हैं। हमारा सवाल सीधा है: जो कानून मस्जिद के लिए है, वही हर धार्मिक स्थल के लिए क्यों नहीं? जो मापदंड मुसलमान के लिए है, वही दूसरे नागरिक के लिए क्यों नहीं? संविधान और कानून अगर सभी के लिए हैं तो उनका संरक्षण और लागू करना भी सभी के लिए समान होना चाहिए।

They have come to the conclusion that speaking up for Muslims loses you many votes among Hindus.

If that is true, then India is not worth saving and AAP and Congress should leave politics and chill.

OR if they believe India is worth saving, then do the right thing even if you lose votes.
