@Next52431@amuse@hecubian_devil Good point. I was referring to a typical homebuild where swap files arent really needed if modern SSD/NVMe are monetarily comparable in some sort of RAM scarcity situation. They should last multi TB of writes before they expire, unlike the old ones.
@amuse@hecubian_devil RAM isn't as important as it used to be now that solid state drives exist. SSD M.2 and NVMe scoop up most of the heavy work. Combine the latest CPUs with crazy core & thread counts, I would not be surprised to see RAM go the way of the dodo bird. But what do I know.
