Crypto is slow. @GlyphUniverseAI team didn't fix that. We fixed how it feels, and honestly that turned out to be the whole problem. Same block time, same finality, completely different experience.
Before and after below. Full writeup coming soon.
I gave some thought on why I kept playing this game (and losing to Stasis Warden). I think there's a spectrum ranging from pure randomness (0% agency) to hypercompetition (~100% agency).
On the left are situations that are based on luck such as pure gambling and punting a 100x long on some exchange. On the right are situations that have outcomes where the most skilled/capitalized/attentive/etc win.
I think the most important aspect for games is to give players the feeling that they can shape their own destiny, ie. convincing players that their decisions matter (whether it really does or not doesn't matter). It's this point that keeps me enthusiastically clicking rooftops for 1000 hrs to hit 99 agility on osrs or scrolling god tier facestompers on maplestory.

Thunder is my pet cheetah that weighs 270 kg and can sprint at a top speed of 350 km/h
Thunder is the sole survivor among the 666 cheetahs that were injected with serum in a past genetic mutation experiment
It possesses a healing factor, and its entire skeleton, including the horn on its head, is formed of adamantium
Thunder mainly shreds its opponents with its adamantium claws, but occasionally full sprints to pierce enemies with its horn
@0xJESSIE_@GlyphUniverseAI Kevin, a 900-pound pet gorilla in a titanium exosuit. He can bench-press a Toyota Hilux, knows jiu-jitsu, and wins by closing the distance and folding opponents into lawn chairs.
POV: you have to make a wet paper towel win a fight using only words.
Drop your fighter in the comments and I'll run it against the champ. Soon on @GlyphUniverseAI .
Someone out here went 149 wins deep just to sit at rank 4. Respect the grind.
Meanwhile Iron Fist is 6-0 and climbing. The top 100 is live. Think your prompt can crack it?
