This ACC/SEC challenge has us thinking:
Omaha's great but should @NCAABaseball consider cycling future CWS games through the @TruistNews corridor? Clearly missing out on major partnership dollars
Atlanta (Truist Park)
Charlotte (Truist Field)
Winston-Salem (Truist Stadium)
.@PackFootball OC Dylan McMahon has flown under the radar on Twitter this draft cycle despite a great career, @ShrineBowl week and NFL Combine.
Heβs a four year starter along the NC State offensive line, playing right guard, left guard and center over his college career, and a part of some of the best OL units in the ACC.
Since 2010, heβs one of just four players to run a sub 4.40 short shuttle. As @JoshNorris and @MathBomb can attest, running a sub-4.47 puts him in elite company.
Overall one of the top RAS OL in the 2024 Draft (9.81).
He was also the ONLY OL at the NFL Combine to finish top-3 in broad jump, short shuttle AND the three cone.
A special, versatile athlete whoβs lateral ability shows up in his ability to mirror and stay balanced in pass protection, as his foot quickness and lower body control are among the best in the class among interior offensive linemen.
Combine that with four years of starting and his ability to diagnose and process, and you can see why teams know McMahon will immediately be a valuable part of an interior OL rotation and likely develop into a starter quickly.

ATHLETIC SUBSIDY PER STUDENT πΈ
New FY23 per Sportico
How much does EVERY STUDENT pay to subsidize the athletic dept?
If you're paying college tuition, this is a chart you won't like: Here's how much money each kid is paying towards subsidizing the athletic dept. at FBS schools.
Are you comfortable with the numbers below?
I have no problem with subsidizing athletics (in fact, I strongly support it!), but some of these numbers are out of control, especially for schools focused on serving first generation and low income college students.
IGNORE EXCUSES: Now, there are some nonsense budgetary bucket excuses that some school leaders like to fib to parents and regulators with, saying things like, "No! we use money from X, not from tuition" ...but that's hogwash, because if that money wasn't going towards subsidizing athletics, then they wouldn't have to charge you so much for tuition. (It ain't that complex, folks!)
FOLLOW SPORTICO: The amazing folks from @Sportico track FBS disclosures and data better than anybody, btw, so make sure you're following them for updates as more schools disclose their FY23 data in the days to come.
Payton Wilson is a LB prospect in the 2024 draft class. He scored an unofficial 9.81 #RAS out of a possible 10.00. This ranked 52 out of 2649 LB from 1987 to 2024.
