🚀 From America’s rails to the moon! 🌕 Built by @WabtecCorp and unveiled with @northropgrumman , our newest commemorative locomotive #up4547 began its first mission hauling @NASA Artemis III rocket components, powering the next era of exploration.
Former NASA astronaut Doug Hurley captured it well at the unveiling ceremony: “Together, we are taking the next leap for humanity.” https://t.co/X9rN4NDS70
⏰ Reminder: the Railroad Crossing Elimination (RCE) / Crossing Safety Program deadline is June 8.
@USDOTFRA is offering more than $1.1 billion in FY 2025–2026 funding to help communities eliminate or significantly improve at-grade rail crossings through safety upgrades, closures, grade separations, and related planning work.
To learn more about the program application process, eligibility, and how to apply, read the blog from our webinar with FRA: https://t.co/toMRqnI0Ke
June is #NationalSafetyMonth, a time to raise awareness about preventing injuries and saving lives at work, on the road and at home.
At NCRR, safety is at the core of everything we do. Our flagging and safety services help protect crews and coordinate construction, repair and maintenance projects within the rail corridor.
Remember to #SeeTracksThinkTrain and help keep everyone safe. #ForeverInMotion
🎙️ New Podcast Episode: GoRail President Betsy Cantwell joined the American Railroading Podcast to discuss the future of freight rail and the policies shaping America’s transportation network.
The conversation covers the rail industry’s continued safety gains, the value of data-driven transportation policy, and how GoRail is building local advocacy through Rail Champions and the Rail Grant Hub.
Tune in for a deeper look at the people, policies, and partnerships driving freight rail forward ➡️ https://t.co/p4BegeLBR2
📦 Those costs don’t stay on the railroad — they move through the supply chain and show up in higher prices for consumers.
📉 The message is clear: policies that weaken freight rail performance, while failing to meaningfully improve safety, are out of step with public opinion.
NO PHOTO IS WORTH THE RISK!
With photo season underway, #TeamINRD urges you to remember that trains move faster and more quietly than you expect, and railroad tracks are private property. Don’t trespass. The best shot is always the safe one.
Despite @RepSamGraves' brave leadership, the Committee has just voted to raise costs for every American household at a time when price levels are the #1 concern.
And give money to rail union bosses.
All for no rail safety benefit.
This is a huge mistake.
🚆 Safety progress you can measure.
New data from @USDOTFRA shows 2025 delivered real safety gains for freight railroads—driven by investment, technology, and a skilled workforce.
Here’s @TransportGOP Chairman @RepSamGraves taking apart the so-called “Railway Safety Act.”
“When the price of your energy goes up, this is why. When the price of your food goes up, this is why. When the price of your lumber goes up, this is why. Everything is going to go up.”
Chairman @RepSamGraves is right: freight rail policy is consumer policy. Mandates that raise costs for railroads do not stop at the rail yard — they move through the supply chain and show up in higher prices for groceries, energy, building materials, and everyday goods.
Policies should strengthen freight rail investment and efficiency, not make life more expensive for American families.

🚨BREAKING: Ahead of today’s House T&I markup of the $580 billion BUILD America 250 Act, we are urging lawmakers to protect ridesharing apps from runaway litigation and keep the costly Railway Safety Act out of the bill.

Making railways safer requires dealing with the actual safety issues. Throwing myriad regulations at a problem to say "we did something" is counterproductive to that goal. The Railway Safety Act is not the answer. More from @kristianstout 👇
