The 2025-26 Knicks are a testament to the philosophy that the best thing a leader of an organization can do is hire great people & leave them alone to do their jobs. Dolan’s Knicks teams were awful when he hired friends, favorites & suck-ups. Hired dudes. Let them work. Champs.
@BigKnickEnergy_ Grateful for an amazing season with a fun-to-watch team that has a bright future with the best contract in the NBA, cap room and an organization that is attractive to free agents now.
@GoodmanHoops What’s strange is as a life-long Knicks fan I never considered the Celtics out big rival. Maybe it’s my age/I’m just jaded by the 90s but it’s always been Pacers, Sixers and honestly even the Heat as teams I root against way more than the Celtics.
@PeteThamel This is a good compromise from the original version. Allows students who graduate young to take the PG year but also eliminating the reclass kid who graduates high school at 20 years old from taking a PG year and having 5 years of eligibility.
@GwashburnGlobe@BWMcGair03@BostonGlobe I know this is a Boston Globe tweet, so maybe replies mentioning it are blocked. But nobody is mentioning the Bob Ryan article that completely ripped Al?
@IndianaFever@caresource Such a gifted offensive team. If you could even be average at defense would be serious title contenders. Literally can’t guard anyone. And it’s not just Clark’s fault. Schematically team just doesn’t defend simple actions without giving up high percentage looks.
@MaacTheft@CBB_Central Interesting difference between college and pro model is that you have owners who are the ones writing the checks so they can easily say “no”. College model it’s not the AD or coach’s money. Easy to recklessly spend other people’s money if it helps you keep your job.
@JUCOadvocate NCAA needs to just set the age limit and then don’t worry about what else they do with those years. Heck go play in the NBA and if you’re under 24 have a year at college. I’m not even kidding. What difference does it make who writes the check. Under 24 you can play.
@MaacTheft I think it’s a lot of things. Good game to see where your team is at. Short trip. Neither coach has insecurity issues. If you win it’s a good win. If you lose it’s not a devastating loss. As you mentioned, way better than paying 100k to beat an NEC team.
@JUCOadvocate You are absolutely right. He is the poster child for “if you give me any loopholes, I’m going to abuse them.” He’s definitely not the only one. But he’s highly visible and brazen about it.
If you could witness any sporting event from a movie live, what would it be? You get 3 choices.
Could be based off a real event (like Hoosiers or Miracle on Ice) or a fictional event (like Rookie of the Year or Any Given Sunday).
@JUCOadvocate Your bigger point is the important one which is that in a world with no CBA, all of these contracts are essentially 1 of 1 deals. Whether the money is guaranteed or not is going to be for both parties to contract out. I can see a lot of deals that terminate upon portal entry.
@MaacTheft@CoachWB33 It’s not hating the 1 and 1. The best part of quarters is that fouls reset halfway through the halves. So teams and officials can adjust and you’re not stuck giving up free throws for 12 minutes because you’re too aggressive for the few minutes of a half.
@KevinMcNamara33 City and AMP need to put in a bid to be the other opening site aside from Dayton. Won’t be easy but would have a legit chance I would think.
