@MoonlitMonkey69@Check_ur_source@stevenmarkryan@elonmusk Its the defacto platform for ideas and debate. Shutting down that debate in any form is detrimental to the progress of society. If people choose to ignore the debate and entrench themselves in one POV that's on them. But you should be listening to both sides and changing minds
@stevenmarkryan@elonmusk Not only that. But they feel the crackdown on bots would also overturn the election in an unfavourable direction.
Anyone who opposes greater freedom of speech and greater transparency in debate is hiding something and/or manipulating you.
@jeremycorbyn@CWUnews Can we have solidarity with the shareholders. The share price has collapsed this year and if those lazy bastards don't get back to work my dividend won't come in!
I guess that's what investing in Britain is like. Better move my cash to the USA where people want to work!
@stopitPutin @Seveerity@macergifford I suspect the Russian rout was so manic that there is little chance they laid complex minefields. Likely the mined the main roads and the fortified positions and that's it. Very different to patrols in Afghanistan or advances in Iraq against well fortified defensive positions
@HarryHo32593841@dbonthepiste@ProfKarolSikora That wasn't the case for Sweden, who never locked down, and only gave out guidance, not imposed legislation. They had less deaths per capita and didn't go into unprecedented levels of debts.
@13sarahmurphy Perhaps if you get out of the left wing media doom circle and walk about you will see this country isn't the impoverished shit heap they tell you it is.
Well maybe in Labour controlled areas. But then, Labour can't run shit.
@HarryHo32593841@dbonthepiste@ProfKarolSikora Yes, tens of thousands of people died DESPITE the lockdowns. We locked down, and yet thousands of people died.
We destroyed our economy, ruined our future, disrupted education, split apart families and friends, cancelled weddings, buried people alone, and mental health crisis!
@AlastairMorgan Is it in a mess, or is the media telling you it's in a mess. What's actually gone wrong? Interest rates are half what it was during the early 00s. Energy prices are a global issue, Germany has rationing! Unemployment remains low. I can't see any issues that are catastrophic
@kit_critic@sjesusz@ondrejhanslik@ArtemisGordon1@BlakePater@nypost No, if we pool our resources, a tiny minority who get to decide how those resources are spent get phenomenal wealth and power, while the overwhelming majority lose out.
At least in a selfish capitalist society, there is such as thing as middle class.
@AnnaVolodova@sjesusz@ondrejhanslik@ArtemisGordon1@BlakePater@nypost Only NYC has existing infrastructure. If you are talking about building a level of public transportation infrastructure to match NYC in every million population city in America, it would cost tens of trillions of dollars, and would only impact 26 million or roughly 8% of America
@RoryStewartUK@GiveDirectly When so many people think along nationalist lines "Let's end poverty in the UK first" and "why are we sending money to Africa while people sleep rough". How do you get across to these people that British poverty is so different from developing world poverty, cash won't solve it.
@sjesusz@ondrejhanslik@ArtemisGordon1@BlakePater@nypost The problem with this thought is why should taxpayers in Nebraska pay for wealthy new yorkers to travel for free.
If you were to pay for it through higher city taxes or state taxes maybe.
But NYC gets millions of tourists, so why should they benefit from higher taxes on NYers
@Keir_Starmer What about the people who have never been able to afford the overpriced homes?
Β£500 is nothing to the homeowner, but to a greedy landlord over leveraged, its doom. Let the landlords fail!
@elonmusk@LindseyGrahamSC Not to mention the millions of Ukrainian refugees who have been forced out by this unprovoked invasion, and the thousands of Russians who have occupied the land.
If any referendum is to be called, first Russia must withdraw, then Ukrainians should be allowed to return!
@elonmusk@LindseyGrahamSC The simple truth is those areas have majority Russian ethnicity due to the planned depopulation of Ukraine known as the Holodomor. They then encouraged Russians to move to Ukraine and settle the depopulation land.
This isn't ancient history, it's one generation!
