Food safety is overlooked all the time. It is important to know what foods are good for you and how they will affect your overall health. It is just as important to be familiar with food safety for your health as well.

Let's remember that food safety is crucial for public health. At FSIS, we focus on food safety day in and day out, working around the clock to prevent foodborne illness and ensure that your food is safe and wholesome. #WorldHealthDay
@Samanthabr419@beh353 I really love this idea! I think helping patients and not making them feel bad is a much better approach to assisting them in having better overall health.

One of the things that we learned this semester that stuck out to me the most was how important nutrient dense foods are. I used to think I knew a lot about nutrition but now I am confident to share my knowledge with he people in my life and my future patients.

This article is super cool because it is such a fun and easy way to teach friends and family about growing their own fruits and vegetables. It gears more towards kids but it can be fun for adults too!

I love this article! It is always cool to find ways to share information about mindful eating with my family. Especially when I know the information is good and it is easy to read.

This is a piece of great information to relay to our families and friends, especially those who are looking to be mindful of what they eat and are open-minded. Coming from a reputable website is something we should recognize as well! @beh353#beh353
@EmmaDArpinoRD brought up a lot of great points! She discusses fresh vs. frozen produce and how frozen fruit when they are at their peak ripeness offer great vitamins and nutrients. Frozen is just as good as fresh!

This article is super cool for this weeks topic because it takes foods that are popular and uses healthier ingredients to recreate them. This is a fun way for picky eaters to try new things and get the nutrients they need.

This is a super cool article for picker eaters. When I was younger I used to be a super picky eater and never wanted to try new things. This article is a great way to help picky eaters try foods they may not like or have never tried.

I think that health professionals should spend more time in their training learning about nutrition. In med school students only spend about 19 hours learning about nutrition within four years and that is just not enough. Information is power.

@julielee324@beh353 This idea also stood out to me when I read the article. Shame has become way to prevalent within the heath-care system and something must be done to get it to stop. Nutrition should be taught to more doctors and for longer amounts of time in their training.

The author of the reading mentioned how fat-shaming is visible and invisible. This line really resonated with me because even if it isn't' being said there is a good chance it is being thought. Treatment should not differ based on the size of a person.

This week since we are talking about obesity and diet plays a big role in ones health I thought this article about eating foods with different colors was very interesting. It discusses how adding different colors into your diet can help improve it.

@cassandra_59783@beh353 Hi Cassandra this is very interesting. I did not know that infertility can be a consequence of obesity. I knew that there were a diverse count of diseases that can spring from obesity. It is interesting to see how much it can effect someones life.

Something that stuck with me this week that I didn't already know was how much poverty effects childhood obesity. It is helpful to know more about this topic and be able to educate others about it so that less assumptions about obesity are being made.

Since we are talking about barriers this week this post is good inspiration for quick easy meals to make that don't take a lot of preparation and ingredients. They are perfect for quick healthy dinner after a long day at school.

@NganNguyen1054@beh353 Hi Ngan I often find myself running into this issue as well. I am always tired when I get home from school especially on long days and I have no motivation to cook at all. I need to find some quick and easy recipes to try.

The convenience of unhealthy food is a barrier that I come across a lot, especially when I need something quick. Most of the time during my shift I grab some fries to snack on because they don't cost any money and there are always available.
