@PlasmaticNinja@yarviy You’re an idiot. I’m a game developer and have watched that talk probably 15-20 times. They used a completely new “2D” prototype engine to develop the physics engine and reactions. It’s not even 2D those are all 3D models in a 3D engine
@PlasmaticNinja@yarviy The only way in which they used the original as inspiration, is the same way they do every Zelda game. Trying to make a big vast seemingly open universe to the best of the hardwares ability.
@PlasmaticNinja@yarviy the image you posted was from their GDC talk which is entirely about the new form of gameplay they developed called “multiplicative gameplay”
Excellent self own
@grandnozomi Don’t play the original now you’re just going to get burn out when you play the remake. Play the remake then go back and enjoy the original sometime when you feel like it.
@PlasmaticNinja@yarviy Zelda will literally never be about repeating itself and rehashing old ideas in the mainline games, kindly stop pretending your tourist opinion makes you a “real” fan until you actually understand the point of the franchise
@WrecklessRidley@MetroidFREAK21 The game is actually a lot more fun and satisfying than the demo. I also played the demo, and thought it was okay, but it almost turned me off to buying it because I agree it was boring. I am glad I did buy it though, there’s a lot of cool mechanics to keep it interesting.
@MetroidFREAK21 I very much enjoyed this game. Definitely Zelda vibes. Hoping for a sequel. Had cool combat and story and the fairy companion was also pretty adorable.
@dungeon_enjoyer@the6eyed Meanwhile someone spent more time modeling texturing and animating a single model in Fortnite than you have spent on anything in your entire life brother
