The transfer portal killed my son’s @CoreyWatsonJr07 college football recruitment. College coaches do not responded nor look at High School players. When you have a qualified player, it is frustrating knowing they may not get an opportunity, due to the #Portal & #NIL deals. #NCAAFB

Transfer Portal
It's terrible for players.
It's terrible for coaches.
It's the easy way out for players and coaches.
Players don't have to conform, and coaches don't have to develop players.
If the stars don't align just right for the player, he's immediately in the portal. If the player needs to be developed, coach tells him to move on, and finds a new player in the portal.
Think about it, coaches are being paid more than ever before, and missing in recruiting more than ever before. Why is this? They no longer have to build relationships with players...the players are treated like rentals, because they are in most cases.
I saw a prediction that close to half of every college football player will be in the portal. Most because they didn't play, some because they didn't play enough, others because they simply love the recruiting process and want more attention, and the rest because they want NIL money or more of it.
Don't fool yourself, the same thing is happening in college baseball.
The transfer portal coupled with NIL is destroying college athletics and making it somewhat impossible to build a perennial power built on the "RIGHT THINGS".
