I read English Literature and passed in 1974 with Distinction One. The plays of Shakespeare are interesting ones. The Simon Ekpa trial and appeal are, to me, like the play of “Macbeth”.

The entire thing, to me, is the “Theatre of the Absurd”, the bleak, surreal and repetitive moments of the actors and actresses, the disappearing witnesses, and the alleged fake dossier, equivalent to Tony Blair’s weapons of WMD in Iraq 🇮🇶.

This type of thing is done in a BANANA REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA 🇳🇬, NOT IN A EUROPEAN NATION WITH HUNDREDS OF YEARS OF CIVILIZATION.

However, as international law experts know, just as Samuel Beckett wrote in Waiting for Godot, we shall endure and wait for the end.

“A criminal trial where the so-called prosecution witnesses have disappeared, leaving the Prosecutor alone wondering whom to present the case to. The disappearance of the Nigerian witnesses now leaves the Defence to begin its case.

This is once again a big shame for Finland, which never listened to some of us who warned that this case was political, not legal.

There appears to be insufficient evidence placing Simon Ekpa at the scene of the alleged crimes. The questions surrounding the Nigerian evidence and witnesses must therefore be subjected to the highest level of scrutiny.

The central issue now is simple: Can a criminal conviction be UPHELD without credible, available and independently verified evidence? ANSWER: NO.

Abubakar Malami, as a former Minister of Justice, lied to Nigerians and lied to the international community about the cases of Simon Ekpa and Nnamdi Kanu.

He issued abduction warrants and arrest warrants based on fake and corrupt evidence, as the evidence I have seen in court here in Finland in the case of Simon Ekpa, and the evidence I saw in the Kenyan courts concerning Nnamdi Kanu.

Abubakar Malami was arrested for corruption and terrorist activities dealing with Boko Haram and other things that have destroyed Nigeria 🇳🇬.

You detained @elrufai, Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, on allegations that are not different from what other Nigerians have done in the past.

As a humanitarian law expert, I find it very difficult to understand why Abubakar Malami is walking free in Nigeria.

1. I write to you from Finland with great respect for the Finnish people. During my time here, I have witnessed a nation built on integrity, justice, peace, and respect for the rule of law.

2. This is my final appeal. I respectfully urge Finland not to become entangled in Nigeria’s internal political conflicts or to rely on intelligence and evidence whose credibility is seriously disputed.

3. In my view, Finland should not allow its independent judicial reputation to be overshadowed by politically contested material originating outside your country.

4. The matter before the court, in my opinion, arises from deep political and factional divisions within the Biafran movement rather than representing a straightforward criminal issue.

5. Finland should remain above such disputes and continue to uphold its long-standing tradition of neutrality and impartial justice.

6. As a scholar of international law, I believe that where evidence is contested and intelligence may have been influenced by political considerations, the greatest duty of any democratic state is to exercise the highest level of scrutiny and independence.

7. Whatever the outcome of the proceedings, I respectfully urge Finland to disengage from Nigeria’s political contest and preserve its international standing as a nation of peace, dialogue, mediation, and justice.

8. Finland’s reputation has been earned over generations and should never be compromised by fake external political agendas Nigeria .
