@AdamUrato1 This excess of early births should be compared to the high bad obstetrics outcome in women with depression. The excess may well be due to antidepressants
Anyone know of outcomes in
women who are depressed on and off antidepressants?
@PSSDNetwork
Review article in New Scientist about paper by Toby Pillinger et al who report on the non psyche effects of antidepressants on body eg cardiac
The short NS article also says “research earlier this year shows withdrawal effects may be less common than thought”
@PSSDNetwork short article in this weeks New Scientist about the PIEZO 1 gene which I believe is a putative link to PSSD. Anyway this paper suggested that the gene in Neanderthals conferred increased oxygen carrying capabilities in blood. This induced pregnancy failure in hybrids
I have written a novel about an organic psychiatrist who is cold and unsympathetic. After spiritual experiences he becomes eclectic and compassionate. A lot about antidepressant side effects therein. CANT FIND PUBLISHER
@dsowens17 It would be important to split the non responders from the exercise responders
They may be slightly different underlying pathology
Clinical features tend to be neglected but are necessary
@Lobotapro@PSSDNetwork@More4Science@INIDAofficial@DrJosefWD It would be good to have a control group
Would suggest as I intimated before using those men who have been on SSRIs for primary rapid ejaculation and selecting those men in whom the medication did not help
@UpsideofBipolar I think psychiatrists are interested in language and information gleaned from somatic information
Compared to surgeons who may say little and can be guided by physical investigations
@PSSDNetwork@FrontPharmacol You r right. My guess is that some women were locked up as being mad or told no one. Might have called it a pain. Causes are many from brain and spinal cord problems to vascular issues to being anxious about normal arousal and so perpetuating it. Another horrible syndrome
@PSSDNetwork@uvamedicine@ASCPorg I heard dr Clayton talk about flibanserin many years ago. It is used in USA to treat low desire but the efficacy over placebo was marginal to say the least. She appeared at many sexual function conferences
Always seeming v opinionated but held in high esteem in USA
? No insight
@cheesyredrocket@PSSDNetwork@DrDavidHealy Studies show when one partners sex life improves so does the other irrespective of sexuality and type of intimacy. Converse true too
@joannamoncrieff How strange that most men with rapid ejaculation benefit from SSRI use with no diminution in other sexual parameters
There must be something very different about their genotype ad phenotypes compared to PSSD folk
@i_r_wilson@PSSDNetwork @taperclinic At least we have ethics committees now for research
When I did my PhD they did not exist
Maurice Pappworth helped bring this to light and change things
