A priest disguised himself as a beggar to see how the so-called Christians would react.
The priest dressed as a dirty beggar and went to church in the morning - a church of 10,000 members where he was supposed to be introduced as the new priest.
He walked around the church for 30 minutes before the service started. Even though a huge crowd was arriving, only a very small percentage of the believers greeted the beggar.
He asked some of them for a few coins for food… but absolutely no one gave him anything. Then he went inside and tried to sit in the front, but the deacons told him to sit in the back.
He tried to greet people or speak to them, but they turned their heads away in disgust after looking him up and down. While he sat at the back of the huge church, the service began, and one of the leaders immediately announced that he was happy to make an important announcement: “Today we will have a new priest!”
People started applauding, looking around curiously and happily, eager to meet the new priest. When the beggar who had been seated in the back stood up and began walking forward, all the applause stopped.
Everyone stared at him in astonishment.
After he reached the front, he stood silently for a moment, then took the microphone and said:
“Then the King will say to those on His right: ‘Come, you who are blessed by My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you welcomed Me; I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.’
Then the righteous will answer Him: ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and welcome You, or naked and clothe You? When did we see You sick or in prison and come to You?’
And the King will answer them: ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’”
After reading this passage from Matthew 25:34–40, he looked at the church members and told them what had happened that morning, right under their indifferent gaze.
Many began to cry, and numerous heads bowed in shame… Then the priest said: “Today I see only a gathering of people, but I do not see the Church of Christ. The world is full of people, but it does not have enough disciples, followers of Christ.
WHEN WILL YOU BECOME DISCIPLES?” he asked.
After a moment of silence he concluded: “Goodbye… see you next week!”
Being a Christian means much more than a principle you defend and hold onto out of habit. Live as if we were already in the Kingdom of God.
“Why did Christ die? Now, over the last few centuries there have been new answers to this question, new teachings that are far from the truth. The Protestant reformers developed notions of Christ’s death in what they call the atonement theories, and these spread. People today in our world believe that Christ had to die to appease the Father’s anger or that Christ had to die to pay off the devil. We must ask ourselves, what kind of God does this present to us? What kind of God would we have faith in? A God who is somehow powerless before death or Satan and must do this. No. This simply isn’t the teaching of the Church.”

Why my family became Orthodox:
- Theosis as man’s purpose/meaning
- Man as divine, not depraved
- Sin as infection, not merely infraction
- Faith as participatory, not merely propositional
- Full embrace of the spiritual realm
- Real sacraments, real presence in Eucharist
- Least affected by modernism/post-modernism
- Apostolic succession, genuine authority
- Logic/reason submits to mystical/spiritual
- Theological depth, nuance, paradox
- Beauty, symbolism, rich meaning
- God (& cloud of witnesses) present in the Liturgy

The Epstein child rape exposure is directly relevant to Jesus's words in Matthew 18:6:
“If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea."
I don't think "stumble" quite captures it. Other translations give the following:
causes the downfall
leads astray
lose his faith
bullying or taking advantage of their simple trust
hurts one of these little ones
scandalizes
Unity.
Make no mistake about it. Catholics and Orthodox will unite one day.
That unity will only come through truth. Not compromise.
It will not be political.
It will not be institutional.
Rome will return to Orthodoxy.
Not the other way around.
There is no meeting halfway.
There is no diplomacy.
Unity will come as a fulfillment of the faith.
Only then will it be embraced.
Orthodoxy will not change.
Others will return to the truth.
It will come through repentance.
Not negotiation.
Take note. This message did not originate with me. I was tasked with delivering it.

@itsmorganariel I’m sorry you’ve had a bad experience. Unfortunately, the internet delivered exactly the way it always does. True orthodoxy isn’t online orthodoxy. In fact, converts are discouraged from online discourse for this very reason. I pray you don’t turn away. 🙏🏼
