(iv) proactive local govt tone
⚠️ Explosive accusations by Jorge Montepeque (Onyx): “This morning I was talking to a bank who told me that an OPEC member called the seniors [management] to tell them to fire analysts who don’t toe the line. (...) This results in faulty data used by the industry.”
Lots of criticism that Oval Office meeting is a "win for Russia." But that's the best part about it! Moscow now has so many "wins" to celebrate that they can sell a complete and utter "loss" to their public as a victory! That is how wars end. Slow clap. 👏
Here's a thread about social media decentralization.
A couple years ago, I tried to "like" one of Doomberg's posts about a platform, and I literally saw the heart fill up, and then drain out of it like blood. I'd never seen that before.
Twitter said me liking that was disabled:

@Brad_Setser Great point. I track the aluminium industry very closely and am surprised that for all the hype around demand from decarbonization/electrification, primary producers don’t want to expand & would shift strategy to rather recycle scrap. They probably see that inevitable surplus.
Glencore becomes the latest UK-listed natural resources company to say it's considering moving its London primary stock listing elsewhere.
"We're under active consideration about whether we move our listing to a jurisdiction that may be more appropriate," Glencore CEO says.
"This is consistent with action his administration wisely took during his first term and we are confident he will take again," it adds.
Fun fact: the US imports about 2/3 of its #aluminium from Canada. The US relies on Mexico and Canada for ~90% of its aluminium scrap imports
Extreme inequality is bad in itself, but in today’s digital world of information control & influence, extreme inequality can spell doom for democracy, with the masses losing out not only in terms of relative wealth, but also their voice.
