That said, the big fear for all of us with children is, clearly, the risk of conversion. It's not something we've had to deal with before and I fear guards may be down. I can see it now: "We've been Arsenal since Chapman's day but the little one, he's gone, we've lost him..."
The best I can say is that at least the glory came when I was young when football was absolutely everything and this is happening now when it isn't quite. Small comforts.
Tragically, my Invincibles obsession is such that I didn't even broach watching tonight's game with my wife instead of TV with her because I feared doing so would jinx the chances of a Liverpool defeat.
I'd actually forgotten what it was like to wait until the other half was in bed and stay up well past my own bedtime to watch the highlights of the game I'd watched in full the day earlier. So thanks for that Mr Emery.
