The fire at Karachi’s Gul Plaza stands as one of the most distressing tragedies the city has witnessed. Once celebrated as Karachi’s Jhoomar, the plaza turned into a scene of devastation within hours. Twenty five deaths have been confirmed so far, while the exact number of those still missing or trapped remains uncertain. The incident took place around 9 PM on Saturday, a time when the mall was typically filled with shoppers ,workers and constumers. Beyond the irreparable loss of precious lives, the financial destruction is unimaginable, assets worth millions and billions were wiped out, and businesses built over decades were reduced to ashes. What began as a fire in a single shop, and was not controlled in time, ultimately destroyed the livelihoods of thousands of families. Our hearts go out to the victims, and we extend our deepest condolences and prayers to the affected families.🥺
