@pixlpa@danzeeeeman When I learned how to write HTML and CSS in a notepad about 20 years ago did it matter any less now that AI can? No. That skill, knowledge, experience changes you just as equally as you use it to shape the world around you. The painter is never unaffected by the act of painting.
I just released an all-in-one tool that lets you extract textures from any perspective, turn them into seamless textures, and use them on your 3D models.

Thinking back today on all the udemy or similar courses I've picked up and done over the years for various skills. Had the realization that I've learned more, applied those learnings more, faster, and for less money in 6 months of AI assisted learning than all of it combined.
@FPSthetics I like to do both, but games that let you make the best out of failure are more rewarding. Salvaging a botched frantically plan is often more fun. If you reload everytime a guard sees you in MGS you will never have the thrill that was intended.
@EddCoates@cybercpu What about having a family, owning a home, and a successful(but miserable) corpo day job says I'm not succeeding? I'm not making excuses. I'm leveraging AI to eliminate them.
Don't feel threatened because I'm using AI to cram your entire life into my nights and weekends.
@cybercpu@EddCoates I've got talent. I also have a family, a mortgage, a soulcrushing day job, a mountain of college debt, and a disability. What I don't have is time and money, nor the foolish pride to turn down the opportunity to change my life for the better.

Solo game dev reality:
You don’t need to work on your dream project 24/7.
Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is walk away for a bit before burnout eats your brain alive.
I had to learn it the hard way for the past few weeks 🙃
Being enabled by AI to do things I wouldn't otherwise have the time to do I find it amusing that those who don't need AI in their workflows feel the need to virtue signal about it.
Have fun trying to "other" AI users out of the space while your advantages wane more each day.
I added an Anti-AI Human-Created badge to the Game UI Database. Every single one of the 72,684 screenshots on the site (and counting!) was painstakingly tagged BY HAND with absolutely no AI assistance whatsoever. Even the colour palettes! And I still manage to upload and classify a different game each day.
If you're a creative, please consider adding a similar disclaimer to your work. In an age where some people are seemingly content to do the bare minimum, you deserve credit for the effort you put in.

@studio__aaa Ok, let me ask you another: could ditherboy handle live video via OBS or some similar methods? I've got some ideas and I think DB might fit if it can.
@FIEND___ As somebody who has been learning blender at night for a couple of years I was psyched to see you in my feed. Proof that the dream is real. Thanks for the inspiration!
