గమనిక: ఈ సిద్ధాంతానికి (Theory) పూర్తి scientific backing ఉందో లేదో నాకు తెలియదు. ఆసక్తికరమైన సమాచారం అనిపించి షేర్ చేస్తున్నాను..

జామున్ (నేరేడు) పండ్లు మనకు హెచ్చరిక చేస్తున్నాయా?

ఈ సంవత్సరం మార్కెట్లలో గత ఎన్నో సంవత్సరాల కంటే ఎక్కువగా జామున్ పండ్లు కనిపిస్తున్నాయి. చెట్ల నుంచి కూడా విపరీతంగా రాలుతున్నాయి..

మా అమ్మమ్మ ఒక మాట చెప్పేది:

"వేసవిలో నేరేడు చెట్లు ఇంతగా పండ్లు రాలిస్తే, ఆ సంవత్సరం కరువు వచ్చే అవకాశం ఉంటుంది.."

Plant Science ప్రకారం దీనిని Masting లేదా Stress Fruiting అంటారు. కొన్ని సందర్భాల్లో Suicide Fruiting లేదా Bumper Crop అని కూడా పిలుస్తారు..

చెట్టు భూగర్భ జలాలు తగ్గుతున్నాయని లేదా వాతావరణంలో పెద్ద మార్పులు రాబోతున్నాయని గుర్తిస్తే, తన శక్తినంతా కొత్త కొమ్మలు, ఆకుల పెరుగుదలపై కాకుండా పండ్లు, విత్తనాల ఉత్పత్తిపై కేంద్రీకరిస్తుంది..

నేరేడు చెట్లకు లోతుగా వెళ్లే Taproot System ఉంటుంది. భూగర్భ జలమట్టం బాగా పడిపోయినప్పుడు ఈ వేర్లు Water Stress ను అనుభవిస్తాయి. ఇది రాబోయే కరువు లేదా తీవ్రమైన వేసవికి సంకేతంగా పనిచేయవచ్చని శాస్త్రవేత్తలు భావిస్తారు..

అందుకే వేసవిలో నేరేడు చెట్లు అసాధారణంగా ఎక్కువ పండ్లు కాస్తే, అది ప్రకృతి నుంచి వచ్చే ఒక హెచ్చరిక కావచ్చని అంటారు..

సారాంశంగా, చెట్టు "ఆత్మహత్య" చేసుకోవడం కాదు; తన జాతి కొనసాగేందుకు తదుపరి తరానికి ఎక్కువ విత్తనాలు అందించే ప్రయత్నం చేస్తోంది..

ఈ సంవత్సరం నేరేడు పండ్లను ఆస్వాదిద్దాం.. అదే సమయంలో నీరు వంటి సహజ వనరులను పొదుపుగా, బాధ్యతతో ఉపయోగించాల్సిన అవసరాన్ని కూడా గుర్తుంచుకుందాం..!!

Earliest epigraphical references to the Bonalu festival from the period of Krishnadevaraya have been identified from an inscription found from Gobbur, Telangana. The record is written in the Telugu script and is dated to 1516 CE.

The inscription records the exemption of taxes payable to the government on the occasion of Rangam, Kunamuggu, Gaddapattana and Bonalu. It also documents the grant of lands as sarvamanyam, in addition to earlier endowments. These were meant for the celebration of the Bonalu festival in the presence of the deity at Koṇḍapalli, as per the orders of Rayasam Kondamarasayya. The inscription states that Parvatayya erected this pillar during the reign of Krishnadevaraya from Vijayanagara. It further informs that these rituals and festivals were already in practice much before this period.

Notably, Bonalu, Raṅgam, Kunamuggu and Pattnam continue to be observed in the living folk cultural traditions of Telangana. The inscription is presently preserved in the State Archaeology Museum, Hyderabad.

I've been facing severe power issues- line-neutral faults, low/high voltage- causing repeated damage to appliances. Despite raising complaints for 4 days, there's no proper resolution. Your team visited but shockingly suggested I install a separate transformer myself !
