I genuinely think a time will come when many women will regret supporting the version of feminism being glorified today.
And I’m not talking about equal rights, opportunities, or financial independence.
I’m talking about pseudo-feminism that teaches women they don’t need a man, compromising is weakness, making sacrifices is losing yourself, and that earning money means you should never have to adjust for anyone.
Where respecting your husband is called submission, putting effort into a relationship is considered desperate, and walking away is celebrated more than working things out.
And I think many women will realise how damaging this mindset was, perhaps in their late thirties or forties, when they look back and understand that they were taught to see partnership as a burden rather than something worth building.
I genuinely believe that day is not very far away.
@SriramMadras@JagadishKumara1 The pride that y'all possess about no one proving it is disgusting. I wonder what it costs for a just person with conscience and ethics to defend an entity so fiercely that you look but choose not see the truth, and continue to defend them no matter what! Engulfed or trapped?!
@ShalinSpeaks The point is to let ppl make their own mistakes. Isn't that freedom of choice and feminism! Not bashing a woman for not fitting into what you think is the right way to live
@aheenmaxi Ensuring business as usual on all days is part of basic job description for a government. In any case it's not the role of the media to be cheerleaders of a govt performing basic job. But is media's job to highlight when things go wrong!

Dostoyevsky:
Watching Elon Musk this week has been a fascinating character study in the saviour complex of Western tech billionaires.
They arrive in your country selling you the future. Welcome them, and you’re a country that wants progress. Make them wait, and suddenly your people are victims who need rescuing from their own institutions by the chosen one.
It’s a pattern. When Thai rescuers didn’t use the mini-submarine Musk sent for the trapped boys, and diver Vernon Unsworth called the idea impractical, Musk attacked him as the “pedo guy.”
When Brazil’s Supreme Court ordered X to comply with its rulings, Musk called the judge a “dictator.”
The script rarely changes. Only the country does.
The colonial mindset isn’t always about wanting to rule a country. Sometimes it’s the assumption that you arrive as its saviour, and if the country doesn’t immediately recognise you as one, something must be wrong with the country.
So much abuse in the comments. And the same questions.
Why should sign boards not be in Tamil in other States? After all there are Tamils working in other States. What about migrant workers from other regions in Tamil Nadu who do not know Hindi?
The answer is logical.
The reason English and Hindi were chosen as official languages was that it was believed that most people would know at least one of them. Since name boards cannot be written in 30 languages it was believed that they could be in the local language PLUS the two official languages so that most people would understand at least one of the languages.
Of course all migrant workers may not know Hindi or English. And Tamils who do not know either of these two languages will be put to inconvenience in other parts of India.
The issue is doing what is reasonably feasible to ensure most people will be able to understand.
And how does Tamil lose out here? The prescription slip has Tamil and English too.
This is the politics of hate. You do exactly what you accuse the BJP of. That they do this does not make what you do correct. Othering, whether on the basis of religion or caste or language is wrong. Period.
If you're married to someone who takes care of you, and is a good parent to your children, then you've won the game. There isn't anything out there that you're missing. You've already found what you're supposed to find.
So many people ruin their lives with a vague sense of dissatisfaction that is entirely constructed within their own minds. You're not going to find the answer by separating from your spouse, ruining your children's lives, partying, sleeping with strangers, "finding yourself" by taking a plane staring into the dead gas lamp sky of a thousand cities that all look the same in the heat of your misguided misery. I've blown my life enough to know that I'm skillful enough to recreate my own personal hell no matter the circumstances.
Stop trying to find the answer by running away. It's time to stay. Stay. You need to love harder. Explore what you already possess. Possess more only to give and enrich the life you currently have. Take responsibility for something important to you. Start a business. Take care of a relative. Be a better friend. Be a better parent. Create something beautiful. Love some more. Everything else is a dead end.
@bunnydesino While Dorothy is playing with Subbu, her husband interrupts the game so he can take her in to be intimate! Sorry your theory doesn't hold!
