@PoisonDartagnan@RhoFGC@KnowingBetterYT@PostLeftWatch Like what term would you want for the cohort of people that can give birth?
Or do you think specifically cis women who can give birth shouldn’t be referred to in a medical context using that term?
@PoisonDartagnan@RhoFGC@KnowingBetterYT@PostLeftWatch Well if in a document you need to refer to people who can give birth, then birthing person is fine as a term. Even if that person is a cis woman. Unless you think no term should exist that includes nonbinary people, trans men, and cis woman who can… give birth.
@monochormatic@Based_SpaceGoji People die from falling off a 10 foot ladder, it’s all about how you land. Hell, falling over on concrete can kill you if you’re unlucky or you hit a curb or something
@radfemswiftie Classic “feminist”take which is actually just patriarchal beliefs but with a men bad flavor.
Believing men are inherently predatory and morally inferior is patriarchy
@sororaborealis@suchnerve I guess I’m just growing more and more concerned with people in progressive spaces taking a “as long as we agree on issues we’re allies” approach and not thinking too hard about the reasonings. And that’s had a lot of “progressive allies” turn out to be terfs, bigots, etc
@sororaborealis@suchnerve I don’t disagree that self interest is common, but I won’t agree that it’s a good thing.
I think a self interested approach to progressivism has set us all back immeasurably
@sororaborealis@suchnerve If someone’s views on feminism are informed by self interest and spite they’ll only have good views by chance. And it’s a matter of time before they believe some horrible shit that isn’t feminist
It really, really matters why you believe in things.
@Ronrosco2@RuffCrim Not everyone who picks red gives off the vibe that they’re entirely uncaring for anyone but themselves but you sure give off that vibe.
Develop some basic empathy for your fellow man bro. In your attempt to put yourself on a pedestal all you’re doing is showing your ineptitude
@Isla_Island_ It’s fr antifeminist to remove agency from men by saying it’s somehow innate for them to be oppressive.
Patriarchy isn’t an innate, natural state we find ourselves in because of biology making men oppressors. That’s literally the argument of patriarchy for its own existence
@TacosTacos55078@thinkiamsad@KnowingBetterYT “Big business is suppressing the truth of an indigenous group in New Zealand before the 1300s” is an insane conspiracy theory, I love it
