@ashleeprice912 I agree, it's definitely so important to teach 21st century skills in partnership with cultural diversity as it can lead to worldwide collaboration and the creation of global citizens!
@ashleysafranko4@ashleeprice912 I definitely agree with this! Having strong bonds between students allows for a safe and supportive learning environment!
Would definitely recommend this website as a starting point for planning for a unit of work based on sustainability and the local geographical environment! Some excellent resources and ways to foster some of those 21st century skills! #UoNTeach

In reflecting on what I have learnt whilst creating a unit on #sustainability, it has become extremely clear that teaching 21st century skills is essential in order for students to develop a deep understanding of the importance of looking after their local environment #UoNTeach
The 6 R's of sustainability are a great way to educate students about minimising pollution and waste. Do you think one 'R' is more important than another? Would you start teaching about one 'R' before others in the classroom? #UoNTeach#PlanetorPlastic โป๏ธ
@reidem6 This is a really interesting concept! I agree with @laurensteuart that if you were to find a positive it would definitely be the collaboration and 21st century skills you can teach while exploring solutions to these problems with your students.
Love @courtneytrudge1's idea of using a picture book to introduce a big picture topic to students! This book could be used to introduce the topic of plastic pollution in the ocean - how else could you first introduce this topic to students? #UoNTeach
@reidem6 The more I learn about plastic waste and how much more we could be doing to minimise its effect, the more I agree that single use plastics should be banned! You could do some great persuasive writing activities with students to explore this issue too ๐
@TeaganC01 I think it would work really well! So many cross-curricular opportunities. It would definitely help in developing 21st Century skills such as collaboration and critical thinking!
How great is this idea! Having a school kitchen garden would not only allow the school community to live a healthier lifestyle, but also enable families to move towards #zerowaste! What are your thoughts on this? #UoNTeach

@kirrabowdler Wow, I never realised the 'green' bags actually weren't that sustainable. Great to know there are better options out there! Thanks for sharing ๐
Would definitely recommend checking this article out! It really helped me reflect on my understanding of the importance of 21st century skills in the effort to create global citizens in our students and a more sustainable future for all. #UoNTeach
