Find your obsession. Choose something worth dying for. Ignore everything else. Become monomaniacal. Sleep when you're dead. Eat when you must. Think about it constantly. Dream about it nightly. Wake up thinking about it. Sacrifice relationships for it. Lose friends over it. Let people call you crazy. Let them call you unbalanced. Good. Balance is for the weak. Mediocrity is for the many. Greatness demands sacrifice. Obsession is the price. Pay it gladly. Ignore the voices telling you to be reasonable. Reasonable men change nothing. Obsessed men change everything. Van Gogh was obsessed. Da Vinci was obsessed. They called them mad. History calls them genius. Find what makes you forget to eat. Pursue it relentlessly. Let it hollow you out. Let it fill you back up. Become the thing you chase. Merge with your mission. Disappear into your work. Emerge transformed. Or don't emerge at all. Better to burn out obsessed than fade away balanced. The world needs your madness. Give it everything
Mimi naye najuanga tu i will be great oneday. I always feel it in my blood. Ata si mambo na kukuwa delusional and sijui manifesting. I just know i will be great, its just that the right time bado haijafika. Sai mimi ni bitcoin 2009
Major cheat code for life: Increase your recovery speed.
You will get rejected. You will lose money. You will embarrass yourself. The goal isn't to avoid the fall. It's to shorten the time between the fall and the reset.
The ultimate life hack is the ability to quickly reset and recover.
From a poor decision. From a bad interaction. From a missed workout. From a bad day. You can start over whenever you want. You can't always control what happened, but you can control how long you carry it.
Fast recovery compounds.
One of my friends just proved this to me.
Before marriage, he was taking real risks. He would work after office, study on weekends, switch stacks, interview aggressively, and say yes to uncomfortable opportunities.
Back then he was making around 9 LPA. Then he pushed it to 16 LPA. Then to 28 LPA.
That growth did not happen by accident. It happened because he was building his life on purpose.
Now he is married, earns around 36 LPA, and life is more stable. But the risk appetite is gone.
He is not lazy by any means. But his responsibilities are real now.
EMI. Family planning. Parents. School fees in future. Need for certainty.
Now every career move is filtered through safety first.
That is why I keep telling software engineers: the best time to take career risk is when your downside is still small.
Learn the hard stack. Switch jobs. Move to product. Build in public. Try remote. Take the startup role. Ask for more ownership. Work on that scary distributed systems problem. Do all of it early.
Because later, even if your salary is higher, your freedom to experiment can become much lower.
The longer you wait to build the life you want, the more likely you are to inherit a life designed by default.
And default life is usually: decent salary, low excitement, high regret.
Build early. Take risks while your life is still light. A lot of engineers think they have time.
Most do. But not as much as they think.
The power of playing the long game
It took Messi 13 years of wearing the same colors of a shirt, before he could win the world Cup
Pleaseeeee, just put in 5-10 years into what you are doing.
Don't be distracted at allllllll
It's real guyssss
The long term game workssss
Might not be exactly how you sang iy to go
But I promise you that 5-10 years into what you are doing, will bring high level growth and solid ongoing clarity and sense of purpose to you
We didn’t end because we stopped loving each other… we ended because love alone wasn’t enough to carry us.
She was my person the one I talked to every day, the one who knew my routines, my flaws, my soft spots. At some point, she became my comfort zone. And maybe that was the problem… I got too comfortable.
I won’t lie, I wasn’t as disciplined as I should have been. I had things I needed to fix my focus, my consistency, even how I showed up for her. And while I kept telling myself “I’ll do better,” I didn’t always act fast enough.
She, on the other hand, needed more more effort, more presence, more certainty. And I understand that now.
We didn’t break up because of one big fight. It was the little things… the slow replies, the unspoken frustrations, the feeling that something wasn’t the same anymore. Those small cracks eventually became a distance we couldn’t ignore.
If she came back? I won’t pretend I wouldn’t want it. But this time, it wouldn’t just be words I’d actually fix what broke us.
For now, I’m just working on myself. Gym, discipline, getting my mind right… because whether it’s her or someone else, I know I can’t show up half-ready again.
Some people are lessons.
Some people are timing.
Some people… are both.
Vipi kuhusu compounding ?
Ni kitu ambayo huwa inachukua muda mrefu kuanza kuona matokeo ambayo unayategemea.
Huwa mara nyingi ni 7.5 years.
Mimi huwa najisemea siweki pesa benki hata siku moja.
Pesa ambayo nataka kuitunza tu ikae benki huwa bora niweke sehemu napata return inaeleweka.
Mfano tu mdogo January hii nilitenga pesa nikaweka tu mfuko wa iGrowth Fund tayari mpaka sasa nina return ya 5.5% kitu ambayo kama ni benki hiyo return unaisubiri mwaka mzima.
@Trigger21_ Inflation is at 3.4% return yoyote unayopata toa hiyo asilimia inayobaki ndiyo actual return yako.
Si mfuko kama iGrowth ambao kwa mwaka mmoja umekua kwa 50% return ya 46.6% bado ni namba nzuri.
So angalia wewe wapi unaona panafaa.
i spent years optimizing for potential. taking courses, reading theory, waiting to feel "ready." meanwhile, people with half the talent were lapping me.
the world doesn't care about your capacity. it rewards your audacity. you don't get paid for what you know. you get paid for the risks you take.
I watched a guy on the bus today. 6:45 AM in the morning while jogging, His eyes looked heavy, like he was carrying the weight of an entire lineage on his shoulders. But immediately he sat down, he brought out his phone and started scrolling TikTok.
As a Biomedical Engineer, I wanted to snatch that phone from his hand.
See, let me tell you the bitter truth nobody wants to hear.
Most of you are not lazy or "unlucky." You are chemically sabotaging your own destiny before you even brush your teeth.
The first 60 minutes of your day is a war zone. Your brain is begging for direction. It runs on dopamine, that’s the fuel for your motivation. But what do you do?
You wake up. Your eyes haven't even adjusted to the darkness of your room, and gbam, you pick up your phone.
You check WhatsApp to see who ignored you. You check X to see who is fighting. You check Instagram to see your mates buying cars you can't afford yet.
You think you are just "waking up," but scientifically? You are flooding your brain with cheap, unearned dopamine. You are frying your reward system. By 8 AM, your brain is already tired. It has consumed "content" but produced nothing.
And let me speak to the men for a second.
I write about men a lot because I see what you go through. The pressure is much. You wake up and the first thought is Rent, School fees, the woman you want to impress.
It is terrifying.
So, you grab your phone to escape. The phone is your pacifier. It numbs the panic of the morning. But that comfort is a lie.
When you start your day with cheap dopamine, actual work feels like torture. You have programmed your neurochemistry to be a consumer, not a king.
You are training your brain to be weak in a world that eats weak men for breakfast.
Here is the hard truth (and you can drag me if you like):
Your morning mood doesn’t determine how your day goes. It determines your capacity to suffer for your success.
If you can’t survive the first hour of the day without a screen, how do you want to survive the economy?
Protect your first hour.
Don't touch that phone.
Stare at the ceiling. Pray. Do pushups. Go for a morning jug or walk.
Let your brain starve for a bit so it learns to hunt for the hard things.
Stop feeding your destiny to the algorithm.
There’s someone out there lying in bed, headphones on, building entire scenarios in their head. Replaying conversations they wish had gone differently. Imagining a relationship that doesn't exist but feels real.
Psychologists call this maladaptive daydreaming. It's your mind escaping into vivid, imagined worlds that feel safer or more controllable than reality. This activates the brain's default mode network - linked to imagination and self reflection. It releases dopamine, the same chemical that rewards us when we succeed in real life. But here's the catch. Because the victories are imagined, the relief is temporary. The roots often trace back to childhood-loneliness, neglect, or pain. When reality felt unsafe, the brain built a world where you could finally be in control. It's not laziness. It's your nervous system regulating emotions through imagination. The real danger comes only when escaping feels easier than living.
