@Polikarpov_I5@realfrugalmogul The benefit of renting to tenants who have owned before (and may have relocated and are house hunting) is exactly this. They know how to take care of a home and tend not to bother you with minor issues (not that a furnace repair is minor!). New grads, that’s a different story.
@realfrugalmogul We take care of the landscaping at our properties. They are nice and I don’t want a tenant to neglect it. Snow removal is on the tenant. I had a tenant call my landscaping co to ask if we offer snow removal. Kind of funny when I told them that I owned their property.
@BC_1236@DestaPratt@Storage_Venture 90% of tax filers take the standard deduction so the mortgage interest doesn’t matter as a write off. Would think this applies for him, W2 employee, primary residence, likely standard deduction.
@the_balanceddad @indexnforgetit Showed up for a weekly service, lawn was already cut. Knock on the door and wife says husband did it over the weekend but told us to mow anyway. My first thought: this guy just needed an hour away from the wife lol
@indexnforgetit I own a lawn & landscape company - people are just lazy. Amazes me how many customers have high school kids who should be cutting the lawn but they pay us instead.
@PatrickEdgett@ThinkAppraiser My BF did beer/wine only & pay for liquor. There were talks his friends being an “issue”. Post wedding BF calls, says sorry to ask but someone vandalized the bathroom and wanted to make sure it wasn’t us. Turned out to be one of brides friends. Huge win for the groom friends lol
@SMBGrowthGuy@ThinkAppraiser We had full open bar, but I think the better way to go is just beer and wine. Minimizes the risk of a “scene” to some extent.
