In hindsight, Cushitic traditions likely absorbed East African traditions, but that may offer a useful vector to isolate PAA traditions through comparison with Amazigh traditions.

I suspect that the relatively isolated Cushitic and Amazigh traditions have the least Sumerian, Indo-European, and Hurro-Urartian influence, thus best representing unadulterated Proto-Afroasiatic traditions.
