It's worrying to see the amount of bad advise out there about non-chemical Japanese Knotweed control.
This is a noxious weed and the regulations only advise chemical control by registered pesticide users.

Mowing simply cuts the plant into many pieces which are all capable of forming new plants.
Collecting and disposing of clippings is worse still! Composting will not get the heat levels necessary to kill the pieces and you will contaminate further afield.
