Is it just me or does Irish rock n roll seem to have an extra level of passion and meaning.
From Van Morrison to Fountains DC
From the Undertones to Inhaler.
U2 to CMAT and so on.
I am back listening to @U2 album #SongsofInnocence from 2014.
An absolute disaster of a launch being shoved into everyone's ITunes. Well.....it has aged like a fine wine. How does this happen. From one of my least favourites to a top 6 U2 album.
My terminally wife was late for a radiation treatment because of the blockade. How could you sympathise with any group capable of endangering life. There are no words words to describe such behaviour. Trust me , given my anger, it is better that I don’t try #fuelprotest
The lads holding the country to randsom would be better off headin to the source of the problem. Spray the shite out of the US Embassy and leave a drop in the tank for Dail Eireann. Leave the depots & refineries do their work.
@marycoff84 I would rather go to the source of the problem. The US embassy. Reverse up and spray the place in slurrey. Leave some in the tank for Dail Eireann. Still a no to blocking refineries and fuel depots.
Surely the costs involved driving tractors up and down motorways is a costly burden. I understand the frustration but blocking depots and forecourts is pathetic.

@U2 latest EP Easter Lilly.
I really like it especially the final two tracks.
I just feel as if I am familiar with the latest two EPs. A sense of I have heard really similar tracks from the band.
Roll on the new album and fingers crossed its fresh and original.
I have been a @u2 fan since I was 9 years old.
Now in my 50s. While it is highly unfashionable to be a fan of this band, they have been the musical chapters of my life.
Today they released #EasterLilly and i cannot believe their hunger and ability is still quite brilliant.

A note to U2’s audience from Bono:
"We are in the studio, still working towards a noisy, messy, 'unreasonably colour xerox’ album to play LIVE… which is where U2 lives. We still look to vivid rock n roll as an act of resistance against all this awfulness on our small screens. These are for sure ‘wilderness years’ for so many of us looking at the mayhem out there in the world. It’s a time that has our band digging deeper into our lives to find a wellspring of songs to try to meet the moment…
With Easter Lily we ended up asking very personal questions like: Are our own relationships up to these challenging times? How hard do you fight for friendship? Can our faith survive the mangling of meaning that those algorithms love to reward? Is all religion rubbish and still ripping us apart…? Or are there answers to find in its crevices? Are there ceremonies, rituals, dances that we might be missing in our lives? From the rite of Spring to Easter and its promise of rebirth and renewal… Patti Smith’s album Easter gave me so much hope when it was released in 1978. I wasn’t yet 18. The title is a nod to her.
We will attempt hoopla and fanfare at a later date to remind the rest of the world we exist but in the meantime… this is between you and us."
