One big difference between #Flyers offer sheet of Shea Weber in 2012 and Leo Carlsson in 2026 is the massive cash up front isn’t poisonous for Anaheim like it was for Nashville.
The belief was Preds needed a cash call from their large ownership partners to match Weber signing bonuses. It was stressful to pay that much in such a short period of time, and beautifully designed to hit that pressure point.
Henry Samueli is now one of the wealthiest owners in the #NHL. If it’s a question for #FlyTogether to match, it’s about team cap structure and little more.
It’s also a reminder for the Ducks that negotiating as hard as they typically do - grinding every player to a stump with their leverage - might feel good in the moment, but could cost you dearly in the long run. The best way to not be subject to an offer sheet is to get the player signed last summer or in the middle of last season. Because even if they’re keeping Carlsson, their future is jammed up with the highest paid player in the league (AAV) in key RFA years where had Verbeek/Solomon swallowed hard and “overpaid” it would still be paltry to $18 mil.
What’s that saying? Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
@heatdaddy69420 Forgive me if this was discussed, was unable to watch the full 60.
In an effort to leave no stone unturned. Did you discuss a scenario where Jason doesn’t sign, but also isn’t traded?
Jason holds out for more money. But also Dallas can’t facilitate a trade they like. Back 2u
How much cap space did the oilers have NOT playing in game 6 you ask ?
Campbell buyout - 2.3
Frederick (HS) - 3.85
Jarry - 5.375
11.525 (12%)
Stan, 9.225 (TF + TJ) sitting on the sidelines. what's your player evaluation process? It's average. But the big swings are crippling
@pakeha1@bcurlock Same production as both, averaging 2 less mins per game and playing with worse line mates. Lars Eller is not 97/29/93 lol. Neither Arv/Skinner kill penalties, Mangipane does. Also he's younger than both. Cheers
@nomadpap@PierreVLeBrun they sure did and that's why they won the cup IMO. teams at the top always spend to the cap. You "shouldn't" really be able to add a 7.5M player at the deadline.
Ekblad should have been unable to participate in the playoffs OR panthers don't get cap relief.
Herzlich willkommen! #NurDerAEV

@concamsdad@PuckPedia Each team has MAX 3 spots to retain on trades
Example habs: currently retaining on Petey&Allen so this year, habs only have 1 slot left to retain up to 50% cap hit to sweeten the trade offer.
Makes sense ?
@NHL_Sid G7: Oilers 5th line (if Kane was healthy) would have been
Gagner-Carrick-Ryan
Which is 100% better then oilers 3rd line from 2019
You just gotta appreciate how bad of a roster Holland actually inherited. And how much work he had to do.
If you’re an Edmonton Oilers fan and you go Rogers place for playoff games. Don’t wear Chinese fake garbage jerseys. Be better. You’re sitting in seats that are $500+ wearing a $60 jerseys. Like cmon now

NFL - 32 American markets
MLB/NBA - 29 American market
NHL - 25 American market
also mentioned the impact having a team in QC would do to Habs brand, ditto for 2nd team in ONT for leafs.
Canada isn't getting an 8th team anytime soon, sorry
@O1lers4ever @ARHockeyStats Are you die heart oilers fan
Are you die hardt oilers fan
Are you die hard oilers fan
Seems to be your tag line. So I gotta know what kind of oilers fan you are
Also, if you are the oilers fan you proclaim maybe start with spelling players names right. Enjoy punching drywall!
2/2
Oilers lost to VGK because they got crushed by their depth. Not because they couldn’t score.
Henrique could easily play 3C between Foegele and Perry which would be a 2nd line on the bottom 10 teams in the NHL.
Thats how you go far in the playoffs
Buckle up. Fun cometh
1/2
Henrique - 42pts/53%FO/plays all F positions/plays both special teams.
Carrick - 8goals as a 4th liner is awesome/52%FO/137 hits puts him 2nd to Kane/good PKer
Buchnevich/Guentzal are both LW. Oilers don’t need help there at all.
