Worried business owners on Melbourne Grove, East Dulwich, SE22 who've had access reduced and parking removed by Southwark #LabourLTNs with NO consultation
@mcash@DulwichCleanAir @kieronjwilliams Except we don’t know anything about motivations without evidence or data, which it appears no one has, including you.
@mcash@DulwichCleanAir @kieronjwilliams The Tory candidates did not gather enough votes but you don’t actually know why. You appear to make an assumption as to why but without any data. This feels very familiar. And v dodgy ground given previous statements from multiple Cllrs regards assumptions without data.
@mcash@DulwichCleanAir @kieronjwilliams Sorry, still don’t think you can claim that that explicitly was what was rejected without asking voters, (do you have this info?) given the overwhelming anti-Tory sentiment at the time.
@DulwichCleanAir@mcash @kieronjwilliams Quite why ppl voted is impossible w/o surveying on exit. There was so much national anti-Tory feeling at the time, it cd have outweighed local issues. Kieron’s surmise is a BIG stretch w/o data. Can’t state votes for Labour were votes for closure. Esp as nowt in campaign material
@DulwichCleanAir Wow. Why on Earth if Head of Highways thinks the latest Dulwich consult is ‘dropping a ten tonne concrete block’ has he not advised against it. Maybe he has. What/who is driving such hugely unpopular plans off the back of the failed LTNs? The ‘out for blood’ Cllrs themselves?
@DulwichCleanAir @kieronjwilliams Should we now expect to see even more carbon emission increasing, business damaging road closures in response to cuts?
@DulwichCleanAir Isn’t a/n major way to reduce car journeys 🔼 use of public transport? A bus can take up to 100 ppl, 100 ppl not in cars? Esp vital in areas with terrible PTAL. But Dulwich LTN has created so much congestion, bus service 3 has been cut by TFL. Fail. Fail. Fail. @helenhayes_
@ChitchClaire@fredacowell @TomViolins @RoseCllr@helenhayes_@willnorman@LondonTrafficW1 It is just bizarre & borderline insanity to ‘know’ that this is result of Dulwich LTNs, as all the data & residents & TfL told you, then continue to add more & more. Closing Turney Road will make this worse. Turney is NOT dangerous. But THIS created by @lb_southwark IS.
@DulwichCleanAir@lb_southwark Is this another case of ‘we know what is best for you’, we will ask but if what you say does not align with what we want we’ll just ignore your valid opinions. Meanwhile making other roads (Croxted, EDG, LL) already dangerous, more toxic just to follow our fantasy. @ChitchClaire
@DulwichCleanAir Why are @lb_southwark council so intent on closing roads like this when the people who voted for them say they don’t want it or need it? Whose opinion are they following if not their own residents?
Dulwich Village is part of the timed restrictions inside the Dulwich LTN.
We were told this would encourage cycling.
These are the latest Southwark cycling figures.
Traffic is up 15%, which means more pollution and more congestion on this road.
#LTNfail
Why can’t @SouthwarkLabour take the views and impacts on small business more seriously like @MarshadeCordova The impacts are clear as day - talk to the 5 business closed or left our road since our LTN but still no one wants to address it? @cllrmseaton @kieronjwilliams
I am visiting businesses on Balham High Road to discuss the A24 Streetspace scheme.
It is great to bring @TFL so they can listen to the views of the businesses affected.
@DulwichCleanAir This is so bizarrely incongruous with the usual Dulwich Village aspect. All for upcycling but this seating looks like a travelling circus has left it behind. @lb_southwark shoots itself in foot again. At last some unity, the whole village can agree this is an epic fail.

Yet @lb_southwark still claim they are closing roads to help with the climate emergency, when it is clear increased journey kms, at least 837Km a day from the ED LTN is counter productive in that regard, while damaging small businesses. @RoseCllr@cllrmseaton@Jason_Ochere
The all too evident, evidence that LTNs do nothing for carbon emissions, in fact makes them worse, is stacking up. LOUISE PERRY reports on the creeping war against motorists https://t.co/WEbVx1wVKL via @MailOnline
