BREAKING: The Philippines has ended its bid for a non-permanent seat on the UN Security Council after the final round of voting at the UN General Assembly.

Out of 191 valid votes cast, candidates needed 128 votes to obtain the required two-thirds majority. Kyrgyzstan won the seat with 142 votes, while the Philippines received 49.
