HEADS UP! Flyers have been found around town from the Political Action Committee (PAC) gathering signatures to force a charter amendment to allow up to 12 new electronic billboards in Round Rock. We want you to know that the City of Round Rock HAS NOT approved the use of our logo for this flyer.
The City of Round Rock has clarified several times that this messaging is NOT coming from the City, and there has been no desire from City Council to amend the City’s ordinance that does not allow new billboards.

A PAC called "Keep Round Rock Safe" is currently gathering signatures for a petition for an amendment to our City’s Charter that would introduce new electronic billboards along IH-35 and SH-45. The communication being disseminated has a strong focus on public safety. We want to clarify a few things:
-The proposal is to amend the City Charter to potentially allow up to 12 new electronic billboards.
-These billboards are a type of sign that is currently not permitted by the City's Sign Code.
-Public safety is already a top priority for Round Rock, and we utilize a variety of existing methods to keep our community informed during emergencies.
