They blew up the twin towers, faked a pandemic, admitted that they eat babies, and everyone is still out here talking about voting our way out of it...
d u guys remember when everyone inexplicably pretended Georgia had voting laws that were so racist they couldn't possibly hold the MLB All-Star game there
In order to build the safe and prosperous civilisation we have now, we hanged a very large number of men like this. Now, enjoying the benefits of that civilisation, we’ve become squeamish about the price tag. Might we end up losing it then?
Tired of this excuse. First of all, social security is not something you “pay into.” If it were, you wouldn’t need younger people to “pay into it” in order to get your check. But you do. Because this is a Ponzi scheme, not a retirement account. What you really mean to say is that your money was stolen from you — which it was — and now you want to steal from younger people to get restitution. That’s the actual case you’re making and it’s exactly as morally deranged as it sounds.
Second, your generation continually for decades voted for politicians who would keep the scheme going. You might not have invented social security, but you damn sure made certain it kept going. Why should younger people have to pay the price for the shitty policies you supported?
Third, you “paid into” social security in a different time. The country is now bankrupted and 40 trillion dollars in debt, and basic things like housing are prohibitively expensive. It wasn’t like that when you were young, because your generation of leadership created this problem.
So the theme here is that there are a bunch of problems you guys either created or contributed to. You can choose to pay the price for that now, or force your grandchildren to pay the price so you can live comfortably until you die and leave them holding the bag. You’ve chosen the latter, and I think that’s wrong. Simple as that.
Baby Boomers, born 1946–1964, were the generation of Woodstock (1969) and the late-1960s counterculture.
Drug use, especially marijuana and LSD, was widespread at this festival, and public nudity and casual sex occurred in mass.
And yet, in their twenties and thirties (after their hippie rebellion), Boomers were able to easily enter the work force with just a high school diploma.
Boomers could typically buy a median home for about 2-3 years of family income.
Today the same home costs about 4-5 years of income for Gen Z and Millennials, and the down payment is a much larger sum.
The vast majority of America’s total wealth is possessed by the Boomers, but they want more.
Boomers do not care that the younger generations are being forced to pay into a system that will not even exist when Gen Z and Millennials have need of it.
In summary:
Boomers are the first and only American generation who when faced with an invader and a traitor, and holding a gun with only two bullets, happily chooses to turn around and shoot their own grandchild twice.
I understand that the social security conversation is political poison. But I’m not running for office so I don’t care about that. Taking huge chunks out of the paychecks of young working Americans in order to pay for the retirements of older Americans who have a net worth several times higher, all to prop up a system that everyone knows likely won’t be there when those younger people are retirement age themselves, is morally abhorrent and economically insane. Everyone knows it, too, but we’re held hostage by elderly politicians who refuse to surrender power, and older voters who, as a group (with exceptions, obviously), simply don’t care all that much about the financial and cultural future their grandchildren will inherit.
I own land and property in exactly these areas and will keep buying land and property in these areas
This is exactly my post-AGI thesis too
Scarse coastal or mountain land with clean air
It's so much worse than anyone knows, especially the 9/11 stuff. Will be covering new findings on that front in my next investigation with @markgoodw_in , out later this month.
For now, all I can say is, you don't hate Lutnick enough.
>Guy who loves Japan for it’s low crime, safety and social cohesion.
>Opposes the policies that produce those outcomes in the US.
Many such cases.
When the plague case pops up right next to the plague research center, it's almost certainly related
Figured we should get that on the record early this time
