There is something very deep concerning when you have people defend Sony and PlayStation going full digital, like it's a good thing taking away that choice
What do people benefit from defending Sony? I just don't get it
Spider-Man: Brand New Day director Destin Daniel Cretton says Insomniac’s Spider-Man games were one of the biggest inspirations for the movie.
He isn’t a big gamer but played the games and studied them with his team during production.
“I’m not a huge gamer, but I have played the games. We definitely looked at them.”
Cretton said the games capture what it feels like to be Spider-Man, especially the web-swinging, action, and Peter Parker’s personality.
“There are things that those games do so well that are incredibly inspiring.”
He also explained that the movie draws inspiration from various versions of Spider-Man, including the comics, previous films, and the Insomniac games, rather than following just one.
@StanReinhardt@Tungsten__Cube@charlieINTEL Playstation first party games sell more physically than digitaly. They just released 2 games this year: Marathon is full digital and Saros didn't go well

This builds on the letter we signed back in May against the Online Safety Act with Mozilla and others. We signed because internet restrictions and software age checks threaten independent software, Linux ecosystems, modding, private servers, and ultimately game preservation by making end-of-life plans for games far more difficult. It also allows for lobbying groups such as the ESA to further lie and gaslight against us. They want to make their faulty reasoning into legal reality.
More major Stop Killing Games announcements are on the way! Stay tuned!
Chris Hays, Lead Programmer @ id Software:
“I don’t feel like we work for a game company anymore”
“We make games and we hope the thing that we do make [Microsoft’s] spreadsheet line go up enough that they decide that we are worth keeping on for another year”
20 days since the cowardly and creatively and ethically bankrupt Sony announced their plan to end physical games by January 2028, to start a monopoly, end second hand market and options and eliminate player ownership🚀
Still no communication despite massive global backlash that transcended the gaming world into various industries turning Sony into a topic for ridicule.
