🏆 Only one hospital in New York State can say this, and it’s Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
We’re proud to be recognized by the National Weather Service as New York’s only StormReady Hospital, a designation that reflects our commitment to continued vision, leadership, hard work, and community preparedness. Through comprehensive severe weather planning, ongoing training, and redundant systems for weather monitoring and emergency communications, our teams are ready to respond during severe weather events.
This recognition is a testament to the dedication of VBMC's Emergency Management team and everyone who helps keep our community safe before, during, and after hazardous weather events. 🌩️ 💪
🎉 Big advocacy win: a dedicated ICD-10 code for Lynch syndrome is officially coming Sept 2026.
Recognition matters 👏
This means better tracking, research, and care for hereditary cancer families!

High reliability is not about avoiding complications in gastroenterology, it is about how consistently our systems anticipate, detect, and respond to them. In endoscopy and clinic practice, small signals like poor prep, delayed follow-up, or workflow gaps often reflect deeper system vulnerabilities.
Are we truly building reliable systems or just getting better at working around them?
At Northwell Fellowship Career Night, one message stood out: programs don’t just read your CV… they look for clarity on who you are and where you’re headed.
Grateful for honest conversations that sharpen both application and direction.

Scrubs & Heels was built with intention.
To bring women into the same room, create space to connect, and build something that lasts beyond it.
Many of the women I rely on today, the ones I call for advice, perspective, and opportunity, I met in those rooms.
Over time, those same spaces create the chance to give back, to lead, and to help shape what comes next.
@ScrubsNHeels 2027. Back to Miami.
Honored to carry the torch forward with my co-chair @rina_sanghavi , building on what two phenomenal leaders created this year @BMoshiree & @SandraQuezadaMD and to continue building spaces where women lead, connect, and lift each other up.
What do you want to see in 2027?
Dallas left me with a lot to think about. Scrubs & Heels 2026, a summit of women in Gastroenterology, showed what intentional career-building can look like... financial independence, career pivots, negotiating, and knowing your worth. Grateful for this exposure early on.
A small bowel MCL case at ACG 2025 caught me off guard. Months later, I still think about the questions it raised about patients, care, and what I didn’t know. This year, I’m excited to see what lessons ACG 2026 leaves me thinking about! #GItwitter#ACG#Gastroenterology
Texas this April just got a little more exciting… I’m heading to Scrubs & Heels 2026! 🎉
Can’t wait for a weekend full of learning, connecting, and empowering women in medicine. If you’ll be there, let’s meet — I’d love to swap stories, ideas, and laughs! 👩⚕️✨#WomenInGI
Match Week 2026 is here. A year ago, I got my match while my mom was recovering from a B/L TKR. In pain, she still smiled, and that moment felt bigger than any celebration.
Wishing the 2026 applicants strength and peace. #matchweek#match2026#residency#medtwitter#imgjourney
🌟Grateful & honored! 🌟
My peers elected me to represent the Resident Improvement & Advocacy Committee at VBMC, now affiliated with Zucker School of Medicine/Northwell.
Thank you to everyone who trusted me with this—I’m excited to roll up my sleeves and get to work together!
💭🚀What if most ERCPs could be avoided — safely?
Last year at Johns Hopkins, I contributed to a team project using AI to predict choledocholithiasis: ✅ 86% accuracy, AUC 0.95 ✅ Cuts unnecessary ERCPs from 14% → 3% ✅ Missed only 0.5% of stones

🚨TRAPH: the great mimicker we rarely talk about
In our study of 52 adults with severe pulmonary HTN- most were headed toward advanced imaging or anticoagulation.
But the diagnosis? TRAPH: 100% responded to IV thiamine. Mortality: 0%.

How do you #InspireInclusion to forge women's equality?
“I have been very vocal for inclusion of all disciplines in GI educational conferences, including dietitians and psychologists in the GI space where the vast majority are women.” - Kate Scarlata, MD
🔬ARAT: A promising, secure & efficient option for treating GERD 🤢 in patients w/o sliding hiatal hernia 🚫.
More long-term analysis 📈 & comparative studies 🧪 required for a clearer picture 🎯
