🚨 Pep Guardiola hits back at Jim Ratcliffe: "We treat immigrants or people that come from other countries like they are the ones causing problems for our country. It's a big problem because the fact I am Catalan and you are British? What influence did we have on where we were born?
"Everyone wants to have a better life, everyone wants to have a better future for themselves and their families. Sometimes the opportunities are where you are born and sometimes it is in the place where you go.
"The colour of your skin or the place where you were born don't make a difference.
"Most people run away from their countries for the problems that are in their country, not because they want to leave.
"The more we embrace other cultures, truly embrace it, then we will have a better society - I do not have any doubts about that."
@ASCL_UK thank you to Tiffnie Harris and @marcrowland73 for THE most inspiring and informative CPD I've ever experienced. I now feel fully equipped to support the most disadvantaged students and make a real difference. Highly recommended!
Very pleased to finally see the fruits of my labour. Although I'm only accredited as a contributor, I wrote the bulk of this book, and enjoyed doing so. Hopefully in time to help my daughter with her history GCSE!!
It was great to spend today with Year 12s from @SPGbham@DrCasserly: we really appreciated your insightful questions and enthusiasm. Thank you also to @OxfordHistory and @BrasenoseNews for contributing to a wonderful day.
@shaunie233@branwenjeffreys That is what is happening Shaun. That’s the point of the article. There is a teacher shortage because so many people are leaving. It needs to be addressed for the benefit of future generations.
@branwenjeffreys I found it really difficult as a dad, especially when my children were really young, so I can only imagine the challenges for new mums. Great to see more talk of flexible working as it will keep a lot of people in the profession for a lot longer.
Teachers get 4 weeks on full pay on maternity leave, followed by 2 at 90% before dropping to half pay. Most supermarkets we looked at offer 26 weeks full pay - except Lidl which has just moved to 28 weeks full pay https://t.co/LT7zlxnsJj
@Strickomaster @dustonschool Do you still allow HOYS this privilege? I’d love to be able to go for a swim and beat the commute once a week if I didn’t have an assembly that day.
@Strickomaster I’d love to be able to come in a bit later so I could go for a swim and not get stuck in commuter traffic. Time saved commuting and finding time for fitness would be great for my wellbeing! The work would still get done!
