Revisiting $UMG as an investment idea. All below remain true, apart from the drawdown. It’s now down ~50% from its all time highs. Might make it a double digit percentage holding in the coming weeks. Too cheap to ignore.
A royalty on the world’s most streamed artists.
$UMG is down 35% from its highs.
Still trading on Euronext.
Still locked out of S&P 500 flows.
Invisible to most US institutions.
None of these are permanent problems.
This isn’t a broken business.
It’s a mispriced one.
@eddie_beach3697@torovictorioso That’s doesn’t make it less true? Snapcash was discontinued. No signs of $SNAP reigniting the digital wallet strategy whatsoever.
$SNAP Map has so much potential. Imagine the ad revenue generation for ‘promoted places’ if they’d put more work into it.
Adding ‘now playing’ and ‘safe arrival’ improves usability.
In-app reservation and ticket integration for example would be great as (new) features.
@Jack64128896 That’s exactly when the memory storage grace periods ends. Expecting this will increase $SNAP + subscriptions dramatically. This is also the main thing the market seems to miss. It’s just too obvious.
If @evanspiegel truly believes @specs is this iPhone moment, why isn’t he buying stock hand over fist right now.
Instead he’s been selling shares for years on end, not signaling any belief in $SNAP.
Would be a strong signal to the market. Just like @elonmusk did for $TSLA.
If @evanspiegel is willing to bet the future of the company on @specs, this is the moment to buy some shares on the open market to signal confidence.
$SNAP is in free fall. At this valuation, I can’t take him seriously when he keeps selling shares.
Af this point $SNAP should just cancel the Specs release. Stock would be up 30%+ on that announcement alone. Follow the @IrenicCap playbook and be back to $20 a share by 2027.
$META is launching its 1st smart glasses under its own brand, moving below Ray-Ban pricing with $299 Adventurer & Fury models. $80 cheaper than the latest Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer. Also launching a $399 Kylie Jenner Starfire model, while EssilorLuxottica will manufacture the glasses
Marketing budgets run on perception and performance. The @specs meme creates a narrative that @Snap has lost the plot and will do more damage than just the stock hit. The irony is that @Snapchat has ~1B MAUs. Painful to see a hardware bet crush a generational consumer platform.
