Housing associations leaseholders and shared ownership tenants trapped in #claddingscandal. Member of @UKCAG @NLC_2019. #EndOurCladdingScandal @EOCS_Official
Housing associations continue to use an excuse that they cannot share information about buildings' safety with #leaseholders for reasons of 'successful claim' and because residents would not understand the 'complexity' - which is patronising and insulting.
#EndOurCladdingScandal
@SvitYarm 3/3 If we disclose this information the chances of a successful claim will be lost. These reports are technical and complex and shouldn’t be taken out of context. They form a single element of a comprehensive review of fire safety. Kind regards, Tom
Spent a couple of days working on another building safety scandal story. Each time my jaw sinks further to the floor. The sheer powerlessness of the leaseholders coupled with the story's scale- across so many institutions and companies, with so much fecklessness and greed.
Some examples of @LQHomesMatter's work in this piece - essential reading for anyone looking at flats with a heat network.
Yet another #UKhousing experiment gone wrong, with dire consequences for residents
My nightmare with @LQHomesMatter' heat network is featured in @insidehousing.
Appalling response by L&Q. Apparently residents' suffering and trapping them in homes without hot water whilst exploiting them shouldn't take away from the fact they do charitable work for others.
Excellent investigation by @insidehousing into heat networks - another scandal of new builds
Expensive maintenance, unreliable heat supply and #leaseholders trapped with no choice of energy supplier, tariffs or repairs contractors
Housing association @LQHomesMatter in spotlight
Ballymore, Barratt, Bellway, Berkeley, Taylor Wimpey leaseholder? Or perhaps your developer has gone bust? Whichever it is, join us at a protest at #NineElms in #Battersea on Sat, August 21, 12pm! ⚠️📢🪧FB event: https://t.co/OHjraKHyJi ‼️ #BuildingSafetyCrisis#EnoughIsEnough
....You decorate. You buy furniture. A year on, or even mere four months on, your home and your possessions get destroyed because @LQHomesMatter sold you a home in a poorly constructed building that leaks like a sieve. Then they don't answer your calls for help.

'We continue to hold concerns about the costs of historic remediation being passed onto leaseholders.'
Everyone bar @mhclg
shares our concern that costs are still being passed to the victims of this scandal.

@HRRBFireSafety @stuhodkinson@agdturner@mhclg@RobertJenrick@team_greenhalgh Perhaps @RoyWilsher could share his view on this report?
For transparency, Roy could also provide full detail on the recent Independent Expert Statement including publication of the initial instructions, meeting notes & emails between the four experts?
Over to you, Roy.
@soyagirlintown@optivohomes How low have we sunk in our expectations with new builds and housing associations. We are so tortured we become grateful for being able to flush a toilet.
@team_greenhalgh are you following this poo-show. It's not just building safety. Life in new build Tory homes is torture.
Hi Ross @optivohomes. Thanks to our illegal #cladding, our flats are very hot. You ever been to a hot country with poor sanitation? That acrid smell that hits you in the back of the throat when you enter a bathroom? That’s what ours smells like due to NO WATER for 16 hours.
#EndOurNewBuildScandal
It's not just cladding. It's not even just building safety.
It's shoddy workmanship all around and housing associations selling a nightmare.
@margarethodge - the latest new build in Barking Riverside, flooded top to bottom, for shoddily installed drainage
Let's talk about another property of @LQHomesMatter and @Bellwayhomes1 that got flooded on Sunday night from top to bottom due to badly installed gutters and drainage. This property is 4 months old, in @barkingriver. What a welcome to first-time home ownership.
#LeaseholdScandal
Ibex House E15 high-rise building in #Stratford is flooded top to bottom, communal areas and some flats and @LQHomesMatter is NOT ANSWERING emergency lines. This is a disgrace!
Absent, incompetent, good for nothing landlord, L&Q, again.
@lynbrownmp@unmeshdesai@NewhamLondon
Minister @RobertJenrick rightly praises his increase in rights under defective premises act from 6 -15 years
However MHCLG has already formally told @NAOorguk they accept in most cases the right does not work
We are still a very long way from finding proportionate solutions
