We are already paying for pollution, it’s just buried into the cost for things. A #polluterpays strategy makes both economic and environmental sense. We NEED to stop thinking convenience and start thinking survival

Case in point: the former government subsidy to improve energy efficiency in homes reportedly cost 400M per year and generated 4B in economic activity. Please fact check this. Last I checked, a program that stimulated 10x activity over expenditure was a good thing. 7/x

so if a candidate was from one of these Bureaus, the PSPM does not fairly represent their abilities, but rather the management they were stuck under (and these are likely the candidates who would be really motivated to work hard once under better managers) 2/2

@1matthewchan @SheriffAbdou I really like this initiative and was super excited to share with colleagues. Except the part about providing PSPM results might want to be reconsidered. In some previous Bureaus managers “claimed” they couldn’t give exceeded or they “didn’t want to do a talent mgmt plan”. 1/2

@Ames_at_Work @AlexBenay I think of all the time that each individual employee must spend learning the system and maneuvering in the system (especially for things like mat leave) and can’t imagine that is a more efficient use of funds/time /2

@Ames_at_Work @AlexBenay Has we looked at the assumption(s) that self-serve is actually cheaper/more efficient/better (or whatever was the motivating factor) than having physical people (e.g. compensation advisors) to talk to (either in person or on the phone). Just helped organize and lead our Bureau’s picnic for 75 employees. I forgot how much I love these types of events (including speaking in public) and how invigorated I am at the end of the day. Does a job like this exist in #gov? Or only “off the side of my desk”?
